I ordered these after they got a first place review on America's test kitchen. They were matched up against a variety of different weights and designs and these were what they recommended out of the entire line up. I like this show for its review and great recipes and these weights don't dissapoint. They work great. It took a while to receive them as the seller may have been out of stock. But I patiently waited and they arrived and at good discount over the same weights sold by some others at a higher price. I may order two more sets for larger pies. ATK recommends four cups of weights for a large pie tin! Which is about four boxes or so of these I believe. I started with two and that seems to work well for my quiches that require blind baking. These pans are shallower so only two boxes is sufficient.

Worked perfectly. I always bake two custard pies at a time and always had soggy bottom crust so I blind baked crust using these pie weights. So glad I purchased!

The other day my wife found a quiche recipe. We borrowed some of these baking beads from my son's wife to do a blind crust (that's what the cool kids call it when they bake an empty pie dish with nothing but crust in them) so it would not be soggy when she poured in the quiche mixture. These worked like a charm. These ceramic beads are nicely finished and appear easy to keep clean (not that you need to clean them, they come out just fine if you use parchment paper before putting the beads in the crust). We liked the box they came in too. Makes for easy storage. Although, storing them in a ceramic mug might be just about as good. Get the two pack. It doesn't cost much more. We like having the extra beads. Fills up the sides better. We might order another set of two.

I have used them for over 20 years and needed more. Quantity remains! Love them.
