These books are really helpful for mock tests at home. Especially answer sheet. One minus is there's no explanation for the answers.

Useful, but mind the errors
These are very good tests, but I’ve found some mistakes, especially in the Maths papers, as seen in the photos. E.g. You don’t need 6 tins of paint to cover a 28sqm area if 1 tin covers 10sqm. Then, the question with the clock in the last photo is quite difficult for an 11y.o. They must work out that the angle is 1/3 of a circle (20mins, as indicated by the minute hand) minus 1/3 of 1/12 of a circle (the progress the hour hand made). That’s 120 degrees - 10 degrees = 110 degrees. Even I got that wrong the first time around, as seen in the picture. I can’t expect my daughter to be able to work that out in a minute. As for Verbal reasoning, these were fine, except one instance where they give “sweet/sour” as antonyms. They most certainly are not. It’s like comparing apples and oranges or salty with spicy. Paper 6 in Non-Verbal Reasoning gives A the answer for question 37, when it’s clearly E. Paper 1 in English mistakes adverbs for adjectives at point 19. They are used in connection to verbs, not nouns; therefore, they are adverbs. It’s that simple.

Used the to greatly increase my 10 year olds results.
This is how I used them to good effect: Got my child to do two of each. She got ~60-70% in them which I think is average. From this learned: English - she needed to slow down a lot. She was reading the text but not "taking it in" and claiming she had finished with half the time on the clock left. Maths - she needed to speed up a lot as she was very far from finishing it in the set time. Plus there were some topics she simply didn't know (angles & Venn diagrams). Verbal Reasoning - she didn't properly understand some of the puzzles. So, encouraged her to slow down and read the English properly. Taught her angles and Venn diagrams, on paper and watched some youtube videos. Worked though some of the puzzles. Also for maths, taught her various shortcuts so help her solve problems by ruling out multiple choice answers more quickly, e.g. odd * even = odd. Number is divisible by 3 if the digits sum to a multiple of 3. Similar for 9. Number if divisible by 4 if half of it is even (& only need to look at last two digits). Did lots of shapes and intersecting lines for the angles so she could just recognise things that would be 30,45,60,90,180 degrees. Did a couple more of each paper. Repeat the cycle a couple more times of looking for ways to be quicker and filling in any other missing math subjects (e.g. converting square cm into square m). After a few cycles changed to just looking through the remaining papers for topics she didn't know, then giving her a quick schooling on them. Took 2-2.5 hours per day for a full fortnight - by the end she could get 90% in each. She then did a private school exam and got an exceptional result and a performance scholarship - so I actually look back on the time and money on this as an investment that paid off. Feel bad that many people will not be able to spend this amount of money and time - but don't hate the player, hate the game - everyone wants the best for their children.

Perfect buy for 11+
good for children appearing for 11+ to work on their speed as well as very close to the actual exam pattern. My son used these closer to the exam date to get accustomed to exam setting, answer sheet usage and keeping his solving speed consistent. There were no errors and the keys provides explanation if you get stuck. overall a very good purchase.
