Easy set-up, glorious sound.
Have hooked up my Apple TV, Sky Q box, Fire TV and PS4 to my LG 5.1 surround sound system. Then connected to this lovely, discreet and it works a charm. Beautiful sound quality on all devices. Just remember what device sits on each of it’s channels to avoid frustrating other family members!😂

Works but neons extra dim
This works well enough however it’s different to see the neons and the i.r isn’t the best, not sure I’d buy this again or look for something a little more expensive.

Great little unit!
Smashing little optical switcher, bought to connect two optical sources to my surround system which only has one input. Does the job surprisingly well. One thing which does puzzle me....what do they coat the pressed steel box and the remote sensor with? Tried to attach the box to the horizontal surface of my tv stand with blu tac, no chance! The blu tac stuck firmly to the stand but the little metal box fell off virtually straight away despite several firm presses. The little remote sensor came with its own double sided sticky pad that stuck firmly to the tv stand but the little sensor was having non of it and fell off almost immediately! Great little unit....shame about it’s non stick properties.

Reliable switching
I'm not using the remote control though it appeared to work OK. I like the proper mechanical switch, no problems in operation. Solid build. I can easily flick my audio amp input from one of my PCs to another. The review options want me to rate 'Sheerness'. I believe there are some nice coastal nature reserves there but I've never been so can't give it a star rating.

Does the job 👍🏻
Idiot proof to set up & it does exactly what it says on the box ...... only thing is the optic cables put in the unit don’t seem to ‘snap’ in place strongly - I used parcel tape to secure as the unit is out of sight. All in all for the money & what it does I’m happy !

Nice And Neat
Like with the old start sockets, Soundbars never seem to have enough TOSlink sockets. Mine only has one, but with a PVR, Freesat box, DVD and the TV, I was never going to have enough, especially if I wanted to use the Freesat box to listen to radio without putting the TV on. This unit is small and neat. It sits between the Freesat and Freeview boxes. The green LEDs are not very bright. In fact in daylight they are almost impossible to see. It was easy to set up. But, came without a power supply even if it did have a USB power cable. Luckily I had a spare 5 volt USB plug to use. The remote is simple and does what it should. Annoyingly it does switch the Freeview box on, and off. Not a bad little gizmo.

Probably okay for some people, but not all.
For the relatively low price, I think this is fair value for money. However, it may not be a good option, depending on the quality of your current SPDIF output. In my case, I noticed lower sound quality when I plugged my existing Toslink cable output into my amplifier via this splitter, compared to when I plugged it straight into my amp. In other words, things sounded worse when they were routed via this switch. To me, the difference was a slight increase in sound muddiness when using the splitter. I am not sure everyone would have this problem, as the device providing your optical sound output may be comparable quality to the sound that comes out of this splitter. In my case, my sound was coming for a Squeezebox Touch, which, despite being quite old, has good quality optical output. I wondered if this was all in my mind, and that there could actually be no difference because 'digital is digital' and 'optical is optical' (rather than copper wires, which could in theory result in sound degradation). However, I reckon the quality of the electrical components in the switch would surely have an affect. Maybe I am wrong, so I suggest buying it anyway, doing a blind test if possible, and then returning it if dissatisfied. Maybe you won't notice any difference, which would then make this splitter a four-star purchase (not five-star, because of the absence of a 1A USB power supply, which is not very common these days).

Perfect for my setup
This was perfect for my needs as I have an old Sony surround sound system which doesn't have HDMI ARC so I have used this to be able to switch the surround sound between my Sky, BT TV and TV optical inputs. It took just a few minutes to connect everything up and works perfectly. I particularly like that this is powered via a USB lead so I was able to use the USB slot in my tv to provide the power and not take up a standard plug socket.

Der Splitter wird verwendet, damit wir den Ton des TV's über unseren Blu-ray Player laufen lassen können, um auf allen Lautsprechern im Raum den Ton des TV'S zu verteilen.
