EXCELLENT WIND SPEED & DIRECTION SENSOR
I have owned an Ecowitt WH40 Wireless Rain Gauge for a few years now and it has been extremely accurate, transmits a great strong signal and has been completely problem free, and I have been very impressed with it. I like the idea of separate sensors instead of an all in one type unit, because you get better accuracy, since you can place each one in the best spot for each type of sensor. I decided to try the above Ecowitt rain gauge, their WH32 wireless outdoor temp/humidity sensor and this Ecowitt WH68 wireless wind speed and direction sensor, together with their WN1980 console to view all of the data. It is all working perfectly and transmitting very accurate data and I couldn't be happier. The WH68 wind sensor is excellent. I own and have owned many weather stations including two different Davis stations, and I have to say that this wind sensor outperforms them all! I find it to be as accurate as the Davis, but it is more sensitive to peak wind gusts, plus the wind vane has a little better dampening on it and gives more stabile readings, and the transmitting signal is strong and dependable. And I just want to add that the Ecowitt temp/humidity sensor is more accurate than anything that I have owned for both the temperature and the humidity. I have verified that with calibration equipment. If these sensors hold up as well as their rain gauge has, and I fully expect that they will, then they are an incredible value and give you weather data that you can depend on. Also to note, I had some questions for them before I purchased everything, and their customer service/tech help is great. I highly recommend this wind gauge and all of the other sensors and console that I mentioned above. They are very accurate and ruggedly built to last in my opinion, and the pricing makes it possible to own a flexible, accurate, high quality weather station at a great price!

Working for 3 months, works well
Had a little trouble setting up the gateway, wasn't an intuitive setup, but it wasn't too difficult once I figured it out. The anemometer linked up to it with no trouble and is giving accurate results. Using WS View Plus to view the data. Update, 3 months have passed. I'm impressed, not only is it giving me the readings I expected, but it's now picking up outside temperature and humidity. Support thinks it's getting it from a nearby station. Stopped using the app for the readings, now just using the Ecowitt site for reports. Learned you don't need the app up to get readings. BTW, support is excellent.

Easy install, works well
Good product provides readings of wind speed, gust, Solar (visible) and UV light measurement. Easy to install with good instructions. The installation kit could use some improvements. For instance 10 mm lock washers. FYI, there was no pole included. I used a 1-1/2 inch 10 foot EMT Conduit that I bought from Lowes for $21. Installation advises mounting at 32 feet which was meant mounting on roof. This was something I did not want to mess with in a DIY install. I am also transmitting about 200 feet, my home has aluminum siding. So far no issues and hoping this continues to work. I mounted a brace on the pole as I will add the rain gauge within a couple of weeks. I have several types of Ecowitt devices and like their products. The website is a good feature, App is so-so. Requires a few extra steps to navigate to the dashboard. I do hope this company continues to do well and develop its software and measurement devices.

got it in 2021 replaced the battery's once it still works fine.
got it in 2021 and replaced the battery's once it still works fine. I have it on a 3/4 electrical conduit. I have upgraded the base unit once. The software works well. I like that I can access it from anywhere. I live in the Denver area so it does see a bit of snow. I've always liked that the system is very modular. I could buy just what I want to track. I got this plus the rain gauge to start, then a few thermometers. later I picked up a few soil moisture level detectors. I have always run them on lithium batteries. so I don't worry about battery leaks and temperature issues. also, the battery lasts for ages.

Good Anemometer with UV light sensor
Good, easy to install wind and UV light sensor. It needs the GW-1000 interface to work as a unit, and then you can add additional sensors as desired to make a complete weather station. For a spinning cup wind device, it works good but suffers from the same issues as all in this category. The light sensor is also good for what it does, but could use some software correction at times. User calibration offsets are available which is a nice feature to dial in the best accuracy. For the price point, I still rate it 5 stars.

Needs better environmental testing
Great when it works, but I have bought 2 and they died just after the 90 day warranty. Opened the second one and not the type of hardware for the Arizona Desert.

The radio connection to the gateway was instant and reliable. Shortly after I put it up it handled 75 km/hr winds with no problem and was more accurately than my previous anemometer. I like that it uses only one AA battery. It also has the look of a professional instrument.

funziona bene , buoni materiali ...vedremo nel tempo

The anemometer and light sensor is certainly a nice unit for a user to place the anemometer on a shed or on their roofs to obtain an open area to record as accurate winds as possible. This must require a compatible console or the GW1000 gateway in order to see the data. There is a manual error when it comes to the solar panel though for users in the S hemisphere as the manual states to face the N arrow point north which puts the solar panel facing the south. In the Southern Hemisphere, the panel must face North to work efficiently, this will require the user in the app to offset the wind direction by 180 to read correctly. Accuracy of wind and light is very good when comparing it to a professional graded unit. Otherwise a very easy to set up unit, took myself barely 5 minutes to set the whole unit up, A lithuim battery is strongly recommended to use in this as well.
