The kit is great and easy to install. The only complaint I have is it doesn't include the flashing. It has a storm collar that does nothing to seal the hole in the roof. I had to purchase that separately. I can understand having to buy the pipe above it separate because they don't know how tall your roof is, but the flashing! That's something everyone will need and would be the same for most roofs. After getting all the right parts the install went fast and easy. My stove is doing good and I am happy with it. The slip pipe worked great on the single wall pipe I put inside. That you have to buy separately too. again I can see that, they don't know how high your ceiling will be. I liked it enough to tell my daughter to buy the same kit. She was for warned what else to buy with it and that made hers good even better.

Overall a nice product with good end results. Most do it-yourselfers will do well this kit. My only concern with the product is that the instructions or difficult at best. Included in the set of instructions is information about products not included in this kit, I assume in an effort to save money the company prints one set of instructions for all of their products and every box goes out the door with the same information. Would be nice if the info was specific to the product purchased. With that said the need information is included, and can be followed but is not the best.

Everything is in the box but it looks as though someone took parts out and then squeezed them back into the box. The black transition pipe is bent an awkward shape and the storm collar has lubricant all over it. The cap does as well which leads me to believe this was a returned product. There isn’t any creosote so it hasn’t been used but it’s definitely not an untouched product! Overall the kit was cheaper by $50 then our local store so it’s worth it. We also don’t have time to return it otherwise we would request another kit. The instructions that come with the kit are not detailed like the brochure that most stores have. Our local hardware store calls it the Selkirk bible. It explains exactly how to install this and makes someone inexperienced have more confidence! I’m also happy that selkirks new stainless insulated double wall is an appropriate pipe to use through the ceiling transition and the roof. That will save us quite a bit of $ then buying the triple wall from duravent.

This kit was exactly what I needed on my uninsulated shop roof. The parts seem to be well made quality. You may need some help getting it held up while installing screws in flange. Only bad parts of kit were the cheap screws used to attach to rafters, three broke on installation. A couple parts not needed but still a good deal. Just remember to order the additional section of double wall pipe for top section and the flashing.

I ordered this a couple of months ago in preparation for installing a wood stove in our retirement house that we are working on. Yep, it took a while before the wood stove got installed, but the ceiling support kit worked great, and it is well worth the money spent. A similar item in Alaska would have cost me double in one of the big box stores. Thank goodness of Amazon Prime. I love it and use it as often as I can.

Great quality and fast shipping.

It was probably a good kit when it came out, but this product isn’t even made anymore. It’s obsolete. This means all other parts and components, you will need to complete your chimney system are going to be difficult, or impossible to find. It is no longer “to code”. You won’t be able to get insurance installing this chimney support kit. Call Selkirk directly. They will set you up with up to date hardware that is most likely a better quality product then this kit anyways. Trust me, I found all this out the hard way!!

First, this kit comes with incomprehensible instructions, which are not specific to the parts in the box. There is no comprehensive parts list, and this kit doesn't include the flashing. It says 6 Inch, but the outside diameter of the included insulated pipe section (the part that goes through the ceiling) is 8 inches; not only does this mean it won't fit whatever 6 inch pipe you have. It also means that the 6 inch rain cap they provide (which isn't adjustable) doesn't fit the double walled pipe you're forced to buy to match the kit. Hugely overpriced, no useful instructions, no parts list, and the written materials which are included in lieu of a clear diagram are so vague and unhelpful that you might as well read a Chinese food menu. Zero stars, garbage product.
