Lift the Flap Periodic Table

My seven year old loves this book. It has little bits of interesting information written in an engaging and understandable way. My son will lift the flap of that which he wants to know more about so all the information is not laid out already but excepts children to go looking for it. That is such a clever hook! I've only often seen lift the flap books for babies but this is perfect for something as "complex" as the periodic table. That was about the format. Now for the content! That too is really well put together. The kinds of information has been so well chosen. For example of all he 118 elements, the ones that are solid have a particular shape (square body with legs and arms), the liquids have a watery bottom and the gasses look gassey! Such a useful key that will give us so much information right through the book. Nothing is really dumbed down for children, but just given in small and funny doses! Amazing book. I had ordered the book for my collection as I like chemistry and found this book interesting. My kid who is in 2nd class started reading it and knows the basics. The basics which are taught in higher classes. The book makes it so simple. Now he has claimed the book for himself and loves it. A very fun way of teaching basic concept of periodic table. A must have.

Very nicely designed , informative and makes the learning very interesting

When I first ordered this, I thought it would (understandably) be a bit superficial and simplistic. To my pleasant surprise I found that the authors, editors, illustrators etc have put in a great deal of thought and attention to this. I am 44 years old - I bought this for my kid and am hooked myself. Fantastic and more than one's bang for the buck.

Perfect for our Science class. Nice and solid.

It is of excellent quality, including lots of interesting and humorous facts about the elements of the periodic table, hidden under various flaps. The elements are displayed as characters with squared bodies, identified with their names, and coloured according to their placement in the table. While also appealing to a much older audience, my 5-year old granddaughter, for whom it was purchased, enjoys the book immensely.

My 4 year old can’t get enough of this book. He loves reading it.
