Nice solution to old trip lever drain.
I replaced an old trip lever with this one. Seems to be of good quality. Time will tell. It functions as it should, I was able to fill the tub to the top with no water loss. It is a little confusing to install, just read the instructions.

Worth every penny
It was pretty simple to replace the old overflow plug with this one. I did have to Google a quick video bc the instructions said not to take it apart, HOWEVER you do actually have to pop off the front plate (very easy to do by pushing ot out from the small opening in the back of the whole plug). Other than that this overflow plug has made my baths sooooo much more enjoyable. I can actually cover a good amount of my body with water instead of laying in a few inches that the actual plug allows for

Works well
4 stars cause I wish it was available in brushed bronze to match my other faucets. The product is a little fragile meaning if you aren't slow and careful with it, I can see how it could fall apart easily. I overtightened the screws at one point and it caused the whole unit to pop apart and I had to start back over on installing it. I found as long as I don't overtighten the screws and then if I don't turn it quickly, it works as designed. It would be nice if there was a bit higher priced version that was a bit sturdier and not all plastic. As far as using the product once its installed, it works perfectly. Lets me fill my tub to the top and soak as intended.

My Apartment bathtub has never been better!
Overall I love this, the finish is fantastic and perfectly matches my older apartments other finishes. The outer ring rotates around the center circle to move to the fully open, partially open, or completely closed for a full, but very careful bath. The previously installed cover was chrome and didn't match anything, upon removing I realized why it wasn't swapped with the rest. I had to drill out a rusted in half machine screw! Pro: Excellent finish, good seal, stops all water when wanted. Best option other than the ugly bubble suction cups to cover the overflow drain. Meh: Assembly was a bit confusing at first, I didn't realize it rotated to each of the openings! Not sure it matters but my tub curves at the top a bit and this doesn't sit 100% flat, the metal ring would pop out of the plastic holder, loosened the screws a bit and it's resolved. Con: The indicators to show opening and the ring position indicator are basically invisible, they are so light you just cannot see them, not sure it's just a bad imprint or not. It's great, I got a amazon warehouse one, looks great, just get it, your baths/spouse will thank you.

Expected higher quality for listed price
This looks nice but is not of the quality I'd expect for the $40 price tag. It's metal-coated plastic and feels very cheap. When I turn the dial, the housing flexes and I'm not sure if the foam gasket is going to last long (fingers crossed). All said, installation is very easy. I purchased this used with some minor cosmetic flaws for around $15; I wouldn't pay any more for this.

Cheap junk, not same as original and doesn't hold water.
This is not the same as the original piece. The full set comes with a sturdy metal dial, this is cheap plastic. The whole assembly fell apart when installing for to the pressure from the screws to ensure no leaks around the foam gaskets. Then when trying to snap it back together, the inner o-ring is too large for the groove, so this will probably end up breaking the same as the original (o-ring falling out of place). After snapping everything back together and reinstalling, it doesn't hold water in the completely closed setting. The tub lost 2" of water.

Great screen for critters too
These items are not only great for controlling water height in the bathtub; but they also keep critters (esp brown recluse spiders) from coming in the house via the drain pipes (yes it’s possible regardless of what your plumber tells you - my wife was bitten by one). I modified ours by adding a 20 mesh plastic screen so we can leave it in the open/drain position all the time without worrying about critters in all modes of operation.

Cheap Plastic
Cheap cheap cheap. Its plastic, not metal. Its oversized so if your faucet is right above it, it won't fit. Comes apart easily, and the instructions say don't separate the pieces.

Package came without instructions on how to put it together. Even their website did not have any manuals. I was able to install it quite by fluke. Works as it should. Internal mechanism are of cheap plastic. I can see kids breaking it. External knob falls off easily. I gave it a 3 because overall it does what it is supposed to do.

i read all the reviews before purchasing the overflow cover, some people mentioned a faulty seal. Mine was no different so at least I was prepared. I took the thing apart to figure out how it worked and how I needed to install it which is when I noticed the seal that jumps out of its little track when I try to turn the cover to get a half or full closure. All i did was apply a tiny bit of gorilla glue around the track and let the seal dry in place. Once I did that and installed it, i have had no problems so far. The cover itself is made of some good quality metal and has a good weight to it which makes me believe it will last a long time. Here's hoping!
