Access Virus TI v2 Polar Total Integration Synthesizer and Keyboard Controller

Another user apparently left a review of this synth and docked it a star because it's over 10 years old and isn't using the latest USB. First, who buys a synth like this on Amazon? This is, arguably, the greatest synth ever made (depending on what you're doing) and has a sound that will still shame brands like Hydrasynth, Arturia, Korg, Sequential, and others. (And yes, I like all those brands ((with the exception of Hydrasynth))), but the Virus ti is just... iconic. The sheer power and majesty of this thing and it's many many oscillators is unlike anything else still being made. If you want to sound like Underworld, Gary Numan, Portishead, Goldfrapp, Van Halen (lol - "Jump"), "Billy Jean", or any of literally dozens and dozens of other iconic trance, pop, alternative, or EDM groups... This is it - not a hybrid, people... this is the pure breed.

This is really one of the great synthesizers out there, powerful with a lot advanced synthesis. Everything sounds great and feels like an instrument, not just the basics.However, this synth is over a decade old now. While they have made their VST plugins work with newer OS's, it clearly is aging (It is tiny on new hires displays) still uses USB 1, and in general doesn't seem likely that they will add any new updates. That's why I am docking it a star.On the flipside, if you are willing to tweak the knobs and go through some well thought out menus, this is an amazing synth and easily a better value than many expensive mono synths.
