This is a must have for your AI Prime16 HD. First if fits perfectly, snaps right on. Has a cutout in the back to line up with the ball hinge. The lens is plastic and just a drop in, kinda loose fitting inside, but not an issue at all. Work perfectly in helping reduce that disco ball effect you get with LEDs. Really blends the light together. Also helps with reducing the light bleed from your tank when the light is mounted at maximum height. Best of all you can now lower your light alittle and power up your LEDs because this dose slightly reduce the maximum par and help makes a better PAR average around your tank. Probably the cheapest and most effective upgrade for your tank.

I was a little skeptical when I saw that is was 3d printed. Saw some Youtube videos and decided to give these a chance. What a difference they make! I can now look anywhere in my tank from any angle without being blinded. The shimmer and the spread was also upgraded to make Prime almost Radion like. If you have AI primes you need this! Also the 3d printed part are very high quality and the fit is perfect.

Bought this to cut down on the light spilled out of my tank and it worked like a charm. (Always found it annoying to be blinded by the light coming from the sides of the light when I sat down near the tank.) Thanks to the diffuser, it also has cut down the 'disco ball effects' or 'static' that you see from the AI Prime. It does cut down on your PAR, but not significantly. My PAR dropped from 167 to 153 at the top of my rockscape.

You should not keep your expectations too high. Shape and design is good. But diffuser glass is absorbing the light a little. Slightly weaker light. Weak packaging. Good quality

Used this for lights on my African cichlid tank. It fit snug on the older ai prime freshwater lights just fine. Built well and look good. I bought this to help with the disco ball effect I was getting on the sand and it helped a lot. I can’t see it unless I look very closely.

Have been using AI primes.over nano tanks for the better part of 8 or so years. A good diffuser to blend the separate channels has always been something that AI has missed on. This is the perfect thing to blow some money on. I was hesitant to buy a printed because I already have a printer and tons of filament. However, Unless your printer is really set up, prints aren't attractive. These aren't hobby grade printers. Dude knows what he is doing. Layer lines are minimal. Fitment is tight, yet installs easy. The diffuser lens choice is fantastic. It blends the channels seamlessly without sacrificing too much PAR. SPS on my sand bed and in the corner have sat under my Primehd, alive but not growing for almost 2 years and appx 100 par immediately colored up and noticeable growth has begun. Without changing any settings on the light, my hot spots are cooled out a bit and cool spots are hotter now. Par fluctuation was 280-40 with the hd using BRS AB+ now it's 250-160. This is a great buy. Easier to buy it than it was to model and print myself.
