I'm kind of lazy about putting on my running shoes and have crushed the heels in a hurry to get out more than once. I knew I needed to get one of these and thought two were even better. I can always use one in my car and the other in my home or gym bag. This long handle shoe horn is not so small it gets lost in the shoe yet not too big. It would fit in most purses if needed. "Made in the USA" is what I prefer when I shop. Quality is important so when I read the item was plastic I did have some hesitation. The plastic used in this item is good and solid without rough edges. The sleek design has a pleasing feel to it. In fact, my expectations were more than fulfilled.

Use them every day to get my work boots on. No problem.

Okay, Amazon thinks these shoe horns are SHOES, so pay no attention to all those responses about the fit. Shoe horns may be very old-fashioned, but they still are the best way not to break down the backs of very expensive running shoes. I used to nick them from the hotels I stayed at, but I'm not doing the business travel I once did. And I like these better, since they are a little longer and I don't have to bend down so far. Pack of 2 meant I put one in my golf bag, so I don't break down the backs of those very expensive golf shoes, either.

These work fine for me. They are a bit weak and do flex some, but that can be helpful. The 7.5 inch length is not so huge as to make them difficult to store but does make for an easier reach when sitting down (but not when standing). I like them. They are nothing great; after all they are just plastic shoe horns. I would buy them again. Update 9/24/12: These work well for most shoes, but I recently got a pair of sandals that needed more stretch then these plastic horns can provide. They just bend and don't get my heel in. So I am back looking for metal shoe horns. I knocked it down a star.

I purchased two (2) of these "cheapy" plastic shoehorns at the same time I purchased two other (OrthoStep, JC Cole) more expensive deluxe models. After using them all, I actually like the black plastic ones best! Your foot slides easily into the shoe because of the smooth plastic, and they are easier to use than the bigger shoe horns. Because they are so inexpensive and I don't care if I lose them, I take them with me when I travel and use them every morning to get into my dress shoes. If all you want is a shoe horn that works well, this is it. Like I said, buy two...
