Intermatic TN111K 15-Amp Indoor Timer - Versatile 24-Hour Control - Easy Manual Override and Single 2-Prong Design (1 Pack)

This timer is exactly what I was looking for but could not find anywhere else. It allows you to set multiple on/off segments, BUT, it has a switch at the top to turn it on at any time of the day AND it will automatically turn off when it is scheduled to. Perfect for Christmas, when I had the timer set automatically for on at 4pm and off at 10pm. If I used the switch at the top to turn the Christmas tree on at 9am for Christmas Day (or any day), it would automatically turn off at 10pm as scheduled. All of the rest of the timers that I had seen only had TIMER or ON. It was incredibly easy to set up, size was perfect as it didn't take up 2 plugs in the outlet. Not sure about the durability yet, but I have an Intermatic sprinker timer which has been in use for over 25 years and only had to replace one inexpensive part 2 years ago. If you are looking for flexability on your terms for on and off time, this is the way to go. No one else will let you turn it on before scheduled time and automatically turn off at scheduled time. It rocks!! Made my Christmas season !!!

These works as intended. I like that instead of other light timers with built-in pins which are pushed up or down to adjust when the light goes on and off, this Intermatic timer has pegs. The built-in pins tend to mistakenly push down if I'm not careful when I handle the timer but the Intermatic timer pegs remain securely in place. The biggest difference, which is why I always choose the Intermatic, is the light can be manually switched off without impacting the timer settings. I can set the timer, manually switch off the light using the manual override button, and the timer remains active for the next switch-on. The timers with the pins don't have that capability. The only downside is the newer Intermatics emit a ticking/machine sound when they're plugged in. The last time I bought them - about 20 years ago, the timers were completely silent.

These are old school and are reliable. My sister has used them for centuries (well, many decades) and they last quite a long time. Nothing fancy.

Suddenly, I seem to have descended into timer Hades. I first bought a 4-pack of cheap timers that performed just as you might expect: horribly. Mea culpa. This time I bought a known name pair of Intermatic timers. They looked good and even have a separate on/off switch. However, their motors have started making grinding noises. Setting the correct time of day also is a dicey endeavour. Set the time of day at, say, 1 pm. Then manually turn the dial clockwise until you get to 2 pm. Listen to the clicks and you'll hear 6. That means if you want to set the on time to 1:30 pm, go to 1 pm, then turn 3 more clicks. Easy-peasy, right? Nope, despite careful setting and visually monitoring on/off times via Blink cameras, the Intermatic timers never turned on or off at the times I wanted, often as much as 30 minutes either way. So if you want timers that will turn connected lights or other devices on and off, an Intermatic TN111K will work, but accuracy is a lost hope. The timer comes with only two pairs of on/off pegs; I found an online source for more, but it wasn't easy. The instructions (English/Spanish) are the usual tiny type on a multifolded piece of paper and are clear enough, but the problem they can't help with is the inaccuracy of the timer motor.

Man I love these! So easy to set and forget. The digital ones are crap IMHO and take too long to figure out what you have set. No noise emanating from these and reliable as heck. I actually did some online research before buying this particular brand (I know, for an $11.00 item!) and they were recommended on many sites. The only potential downside is if you lose the little green and red start and stop pins, but you can order them separably if need be. Buy them.

ES LO QUE ESPERABA

I bought these to replace a 20-year old Intermatic timer that broke after I accidentally dropped it. I bought another brand from the hardware store but it was junk, the pins that you push in or pull out to set on/off times were so finicky I think just blowing on the timer would push them all in. So I went back to what has worked for me for the last 20 years, the good ol' Intermatic! Simple, easy to set, they will probably last me another 20 years or more!
