Red Heart With Love Yarn, Tan

This is a skein I had in my stash for years and when I decided it was perfect for my current customer creation I found it was hard to find and much prettier than I thought. The yarn is quality for sure and even though on the pricey side now, it is really worth the money. I make crochet afghans for customers and they are usually very picky about colors. It is very important to have a high quality yarn that will last for many years to come. This one qualifies for sure. It is rated a 4 weight (medium) but when it is worked up it seems thick. It is certainly very durable. This one will not break with wear. the colors work up really nicely. It does seem to be not an Ombre nor a strip like other yarns but it is a slower color change than a variegated yarn. I really like it! My customer loves the colors. The colors change from a medium green to a lighter green to a light green and to a teal.

I don’t use red heart as much as did when I first started crocheting. BUT, as far as metallic yarn is concerned, red heart is my favorite. It’s not stiff, it doesn’t split as much as others and it has just enough sparkle that it’s not overwhelming. Great color selection.

I use this stuff to braid horses' manes and tails so I may not be the one to ask. It's soft but very strong (the main quality I need is for it not to rip when pulled on tightly), and the glitter is a subtle bit of fun. Bad thing is that I am having a hard time finding it lately (I used to be able to buy it on the shelves at WalMart) and so I had to buy it off Amazon and it's much more expensive. I really hope it's not being discontinued.

The color has more butterscotch (a light butterscotch, not the darker kind) than cornsilk. It is hard to describe. I don’t like it much because the color looks more for children than for adults. It doesn’t resemble the stock photo that is for sure. I have no problem with th yarn quality though. It is smoother than super saver but heavier in gauge than Red Heart Soft. I also bought the mallard, boysenberry, bubble gum, and evergreen and loved them all! These colors resemble the photos and the namesake much better. RH with Love is much more expensive than RH supersavor but is softer in texture. I have yet to combine these two to see the effect.
