Good value for the price
Among the Bargain price trimmers, it's hard to ask for more than this one gives. Easy to use, the line rarely fouls, and it's easy to untangle. Light weight, mobile, cordless, reliable, strong- for a small back yard with an operator that is only in the yard because he has to be, this unit is great- especially for the price. I chop a 30'X13' yard of 6" high thick mixed weeds to ground level in 15-20 minutes with this and I still have charge in the battery.

Weed eat away
This is actually a replacement purchase because I was not being careful and fell on the other one and bent the shaft to the point of destruction. Quality, price, functionality, purpose are all excellent. Loading new spools is quite simple. If there is one drawback i would have to say the orange cover for the spool can wear out rather quickly if working around a lot of concrete. Very easy to maneuver and light weight. Has plenty of power for the 2.0 amp battery. Once i have the yard trained I can weed eat the front and backyard on one charge. In fairness my yard is slightly below normal size. Very easy to assemble. I also have the mower attachment that my wife really likes.

Not the most durable but my first choice
Pros Works well – It works well and starts without failure every time. Start time is immediate. Weeds will start trying to hide under the grass when they see you coming with this. Quality – The quality is good and solid. It’s typical of the usual Black and Decker products I’ve owned. Battery Life – The battery life is strong. I use this across several properties and have never had to switch the battery out. Weight – The weight is light and easy to pick up. It feels about the same as a rake or a typical garden tool. Ease of Use – The trimmer has no vibration and is easy to control. Switching the line when it goes out is quick—just keep the line tight and thread it through the hole. Power – Like all Black and Decker tools, the power and speed is great and it gets the job done. About 70% of my tools are Black and Decker, and this is one of the main reasons why. Value for the Money – Black and Decker is one of the cheapest product lines and worth every penny. I appreciate the pricing. Cons Durability – This is the only con, but not a deal breaker. When I put my Black and Decker tools back in the truck, I NEVER throw them in—I PLACE them in. There is a difference.

Works great
This trimmer is just what i needed. Ive used it twice so far. It took a few hours to charge the battery, i expected that. First time i trimmed all my flower beds. I have them pretty much around my whole property. Took me about 20 minutes and battery was fine. Today i had some tall weeds behind my garage that was thick. The trimmer handled it with ease. Very pleased with it

Deceptive beast!
So, I’m female, 5’2” tall, 70 years old, and hate manual labor. I live in a spot in the country carved out of brush and very determined, successful weeds. My weeds aren’t the kind that pop up in the putting green-style suburban lawns. Mine are angry, tough, and used to doing whatever the heck they want. They are the Viking invaders of weeds. They will grab your foot while you’re looking at them and try to wrap you up and drag you into the brush. So I have no choice but to go to battle with them lest the cover, grab, and move my house into the woods. I had my doubts about this weed eater. Since it’s battery powered and lightweight, I wondered if it was a glorified toy. Rest assured it is not. It’s a deceptive beast. I’ve had my share of weed eaters in the never ending endeavor. Name brand, gas powered, weighed about like a cooler full of beer, deafening, taller than me, and inevitably surrender to the weeds. So, I did my due diligence on yet another weed eater, aka money pit, and this one seemed to be the best buzz for the buck. Boy, was I right! First, it’s lightweight! I can easily use it for an hour without breaking my back. The adjustable shaft length and handle position enabled me to fit it to my height and stubby arms. It also self-feeds the string. Excellent innovation. Not once has it clogged or tangled and I didn’t have to continually smack its head on the ground to get it to play nice. It chews through weeds like they are cotton candy. Clean cuts, really fast. Finally, the battery rocks. I’ve run it for an hour and it hasn’t quit on me yet. Recharges in about 15 minutes. And is a breeze to snap on and off. Also, it’s a Black & Decker and the battery fits my B&D leaf blower! On a side note, I have the large B&D humane critter trap and it’s the best. Doesn’t even need a battery. I am so pleased, I was looking for new weeds to buzz just to watch them die. Highly recommend!

Sturdy, saves time and money.
Great for an average yard , home, business etc. It’s light but not flimsy. Easy to trim around. patio, landscape etc. The autofeed string works well and not wasteful. The battery provides more than enough power and time . I have 4 of the batteries and a charger. I also use them on the other Black and Decker stuff I have. Sander and reciprocating saw. No gas, no cords .Sturdy and saves time and money.

Battery
Nice and lightweight, battery only holds a charge for 20 minutes sadly.

There's a lot to like about this little trimmer. It's relatively lightweight, easy to use, and has enough power for a cordless to make you not regret buying it. The packaging nests the charger out of sight inside what might first be mistaken as just a piece of cardboard to hold the handle secure in the to of the box. If you're not looking for it, you might toss out the battery charger with the box - so keep that in mind. The battery is supposed to take 5 hours to charge from nothing, but I think it only took about 3 hours - either way, you probably won't be using it out of the box. Assembly instructions are provided, but it was so straight forward, I didn't bother reading them, and had it pieced together inside five minutes. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver for a single screw. After I charged it up, I went out to attack the weeds that had been growing unchecked for the last month, and was pleased at the performance. It was able to chew through four foot tall thistles (with a bit of work - they *are* nasty, fibrous, sons of guns if you let 'em grow) with out much trepidation - and could eat through normal grass in a single, unyielding pass. I picked mine up for $85 in June 2018, so my review reflects that price point. Seller shipped quickly, and all arrived as it ought to have. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to ditch the cord, or the noise (and heft) of a gas powered trimmer.

Nice and light little tool. Takes 5 hours to charge the battery and one the first charge it only lasted 20 mins. Second charge just over 30. Hoping it will increase a bit more. Buy a replacement nylon when you order as the one with the product is super short. Oh and this is imported from the US so you need a step-down converter as well. Kind of working out expensive!

This trimmer does a great job - I've bought two of them - but be warned that the battery is good for only about 20 minutes of continuous use. We live in the country, where we have about an hour's work to do, and even with two batteries we need to recharge them before we can finish. Aside from the short battery life I really enjoy this product.

First of all, I'm not a handywoman at all. I was spoiled to have others /guys did it for me. Under the current circumstances, I have left with a DIY option or wait till all the weeds are 2 feet high. I was nervous to buy lawn equipment online and to use it the first time. After spending more time research than waiting for the delivery, I finally got it three days ago on amazon prime. Today I was brave enough to open the box and pleasantly found that it is not only super light but also well-built and needs no tools for assembling it. ok, you only need a screwdriver to take the only screw out and put it back when connecting to the main part of the equipment. after charging the battery for about 4-5 hours. I went out to test it. Wow, I am so excited by how easy and effortless this trimmer operates. After spending a good half an hour cleaning up front and backyards weeds, and flower beds, the battery is still working fine. I’m very happy and pleased with the first lawn equipment I own and use it without tears or frustration. Ladies, be brave and try this one, you will like it. now you know why guys call their tools toys. I enjoy using it and the result is amazing too. who does not like a fresh-cut and weed-free lawn?
