Water filter keys
I needed A filter quick and found that Amazon sales this. It arrived quickly. I’ve been buying this filter for years but there was a video along with the product that taught me some great additional tips during the installation that helped the process be smooth as butter. Fits great. I can now have my filter come every 6 months so I don’t have to think about it. What a life saver. The filter cost is much better than I’d expected as well. Now my water is filtered clean and tasting great and I didn’t break the bank!!

Wouldn’t use any other brand.
Works great for my GE fridge. Good water presser. Gets rid of the chlorine smell.

Filter replacement made easy
The right product at a better price than box store. The auto subscription will make it easy to change the filter on a timely basis

Costs a lot more but gets the job done.
I would like to think that the GE branded water filter would do a better job of filtering than the other much cheaper offerings. I have used off brand filters in the past and notice that the flow rate is a little lower with the GE filter, which to me seems to indicate better filtration. The last off brand filter I purchased could not be used due to not fitting the refrigerator. I have used the same off brand before with no issues but this time around it was a no go. Rather than chancing another "no fit" issue I decided to just go with the GE MWF and be done with it. The draw back being the much higher price for the GE filter.

Cheap enough, easy to install
I've had my GE fridge for about seven years now. I've watched the price of these filters creep up through the years, and gave into temptation the last time to try out a generic (AquaFresh) model. Here's a summary of my experience with these two products: Aquafresh WF287: The filter didn't feel quite right when installing .. I had to turn it a bit harder than I remembered. Once I began running the water, I immediately noticed black particles (carbon filter bits I suppose) in the water. I think I flushed out about 10 gallons before there were no more noticeable particles in a clean glass. But upon closer examination under good lighting, I could still see a few black specks floating around. I called the company I bought it from (FiltersFast.com) and they sent me a new one. Well ... same thing happened with the second filter. I think I ended up flushing about 20 gallons through this time before I was satisfied it was clean enough to drink. I've had no problems since, but when it came time to replace, no thanks. I don't think this model triggers the replacement light on my frig, but when I hit nine months of use, I decided I no longer wanted to wait to find out. We've been in drought conditions more often than not this past decade in the Southeast, and I hate wasting water. I did put the water on my lawn so it wasn't completely wasted, but still I don't care enough about my lawn to feed it filtered water. :) I don't have a problem with FiltersFast.com, but I don't want another Aquafresh filter. GE MWF: Installed quickly. Water sputters a bit right after installation, but runs clean with no black specks. The directions say to run about 1.5 gallons through to eliminate the sputtering. I think a gallon is enough. Overall, if you compare the price of filtered water right from your frig to bottled water, the GE MWF is still an incredible bargain. I take my own water to work and save probably hundreds of dollars a year. And I am not filling up the landfills with plastic empties. I find the filters last longer than six months, probably about nine months on average before the light kicks on and tells me to buy another. Bottled water is all about marketing. Clean, filtered water is nothing but pure H20, same as the expensive bottled waters. I have better things to do with my money.

The GE MWF Refrigerator Water Filter works perfectly in my GE fridge and was very easy to install — just twist and lock in place. The water tastes noticeably cleaner and fresher, with no chlorine smell or aftertaste. It also keeps ice clear and free of any odd flavors. Although it’s a bit pricey compared to generic filters, the quality and peace of mind are worth it. A genuine GE filter that delivers excellent performance every time.

these filters appear to do the job nicely and last for some length of time .. we use an awful lot of ice cubes and we also fill our tassimo reservoir from the filtered water .. and after some months our tassimo was asking to be descaled so i thought it was time to get a new filter as well .. it would be really nice if they were cheaper . 40 quid is a bit painful .. i may cautiously try the cheaper ones next time .. but for now i can rest assured i have the best filter for my appliance inserted snugly .
