Puppy Training in 7 Easy Steps: Everything You Need to Know to Raise the Perfect Dog

This is by far the best puppy training book I've found. It is well written, thorough, accurate, easy to understand and implement into raising your puppy. It covers everything for preparing to bring your puppy home, potty training, crate training, socialization, basic commands and so much more. I have searched for the right book for my puppy clients for a very long time, and they have all fallen short until now. I will be including a paperback copy of this book with every one of my puppies going forward. As a matter of fact, I just ordered 4 more copies to accompany puppies to their new homes in June. I genuinely hope that this book remains available indefinitely. I will be recommending it to everyone going forward. And I will continue to add it to my puppy go home kits as long as it's available.

So the chapter titles are well labeled . The information provided is direct and easy to understand. Not overwhelming yet honest as to what to expect, as a puppy owner.

This is an excellent choice for somebody with minimal experience with a pet. It gives excellent and essential advice on how to prepare your space and your life to be as successful as possible with a new puppy such as the proper use of a crate, housebreaking, the way a puppy's thought process works, and more. But, if you're looking for a book on how to simply train a puppy basic commands (come, sit, stay, heel, etc.) there are better choices out there than this book.

This book is excellent. It provides very informative and detailed information on dog training tips, with step-by-step instructions at the end.

The book is great for training very young puppies. I was disappointed, however to read within the intro that it is not recommended for training my 6 month old shelter rescue, and is intended more for 8-week old puppies. This was not noted anywhere prior to purchase, or I’d have chosen differently.

This book is amazing. I wish I had bought it BEFORE I brought my puppy home . It’s easy to understand. It’s all positive training building trust between you and your new fur baby . . I learned about a poisonous or toxic plant in my back yard that my puppy was chewing on and playing under . I was able to make plans to remove it for her safety! The list is long, but informative. I only knew of 3 things NOT TO FEED dogs. She has learned her Name , Come , off , down . Ive learned how to socialize her with other puppies and older dogs. Actually the older dogs will be tested this weekend. I WONT be able to limit the intro 10 to 20 min as I will be staying the night 7 hours from home . I have her pen to remove her from the situation if need be. This book talks about TRUST , illuminating growling when you fur baby growls. It’s an amazing book and a quick read. You can jump in anywhere or chapter when you need to. Buy This before you think about getting a puppy. It’s a commitment for sure ! I would suggest purchasing this book before Puppy comes home . It incorporates the entire family in the training process ! Good Luck and have lots of fun

I found this book most helpful to get a step by step guide as a new puppy owner. I’m anxious to get started on the training once my puppy arrives. Upon completion of the material in this book I am more confident in my ability to provide the best environment for puppy and me.

This is a perfect beginners book for bringing your pup home! It has really clear instructions and brill training tips. It's an American book so talks alot about things in America that we don't have in the UK. But even with that its still a great book to go too if your stuck on training or a behaviour. It has a checklist inside of what to introduce your new pup to over time. How to introduce it to other pets like cats and dogs. Has great tips about nipping and separation anxiety. I would recommend this book to anyone that is planning on getting a new pup. If you are due to get a new pup get this book first as it has some great tips about brining your pup joke for the first time and I honestly think the book has had a great impact on our 4 month sausage pup!

Quite good , easy to follow, however binding is appalling, so pages are falling out on a constant basis.
