Opteka58mm High Definition Professional 5 Piece Filter Kit Includes UV, CPL, FL, ND4 and 10x Macro Lens

Most of the filters and the macro adapter are fine, the wallet is a bonus and isn't so bad. The macro adapter gave me a magnification increase of about 33% when I just tried it now, but maintained decent clarity etc. The ND is a two-stop ND (for some reason they call that "ND4", I wish manufacturers would just label in stops). I prefer 3 or 4 stop NDs generally, because I am wanting them for shallow depth of field in broad daylight, or for long shutter releases, but 2 stops helps a bit. I also picked up a Tiffen 3-stop and have it in the spare pocket of this wallet. The C-pol takes at least a stop of light away as usual. The "multi-coated UV" doesn't have the same coatings you will find on more expensive filters but it seems bright, neutral and clear.The FLD filter is misnamed, this filter has maybe a 1/8th minus green effect, but is quite amber and shaves off a good 700 degrees of Kelvin, rather than adds. If your typical cool white flourescent is 4900 kelvin, to be a true FLD ("Fluorescent - Day" as it says on the rim) you would want a miuns green plus the addition, rather than subtraction, of 600 Kelvin to get to 5500K daylight. This Opteka "FLD" filter takes fluorescent into a no-mans'-land cooler than tungsten but warmer than daylight, you will have to adjust your white balance manually if you use it, and on digital cameras featuring WB adjustment, or if your post workflow can handle it, I don't see much use for this filter as a correction.What the so-called FLD can do is improve skin tones, though maybe they were worried about the politics of calling it a "skintone enhancer" and are winking at you labeling it "Fluorescent - Day." Some other kits are not shy about calling similar formulations "skintone enhancer." It will work as a skintone enhancer at any ambient color temperature, though note there will be a white balance shift accordingly. (And thinking about it, I suppose there could be politics in referring to that setting as "white balance!" =)The rest of the filters are as advertised. Good deal. I am not one who insists on fancy basic filters; I've never seen much evidence as to their superiority, and these are the first things that get screwed up in handling so may as well adjust the investment accordingly. Slight differences in transmission, flare, color balance...I imagine there are improvements to be had for greater spending but with so much correction available in post today, and much of it being inevitable, why spend more.

I've used Opteka filters for a while now and whilst they aren't the best quality you can buy, for the money they are an excellent addition to your kit.This kit comes with 4 filters and a 10x macro lens. All the filters work well don't distort your pictures. The 10x Macro lens takes a little getting used to in order to focus correctly but gives a very nice boost to your macro photographs. Previous kits I bought came with a range of macro lenses, this one only comes with the 10x macro.The kit comes with a very nice padded sleeve to hold your lenses and is worth the price alone.Recommended.

For the price, I definitely recommend these. I'm a professional photographer and I bought these for my mom as a gift. I always recommend that EVERYONE get a UV filter to protect their lens. You can attach the other filters onto the UV filter (so, you can put the polarizer - which makes colors more vivid - on top of the UV filter).FYI: you may have to manually focus with the macro filter. The camera has a bit of trouble deciding what to focus on with that filter.

Really good value for the money. I'm an amateur photographer, and I didn't want to invest a huge amount in filters, because I wasn't sure exactly what I'd need or use on a regular basis. This fit the bill perfectly. I've only used a couple of the filters so far, but I'm absolutely in love with the macro filter (to the point I'm saving to buy a good macro lens). The polarizing and neutralizing filters have made an immense improvement in my outdoor shots. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Nice basic filter kit, not expensive. I am sure there are better out there, but for now, this seems to be a nice budget alternative. The only reason it got 4 stars is the case is already coming apart and I am not sure how long it will hold up, but thiat pretty minor.

Everything works and looks pretty well. Except that macro lens. Extremely blurry except for super up close. I am a bit of s beginner so maybe its me and I need some practice. But then again maybe its not.

Purchased this for a Canon T2i. This is my first set of filters ever used and although I have used just the macro and uv filters I am pleased with the results and the build of these filters. Included pouch looks flimsy but this really has nothing to do with the filters. If you're on a tight budget and want to try using filters this is a good set to start with.

The product is great for the price. I have had no issues and use the polarized filter daily. Nice little case they come in too.

Seems like a quality product.The glass is clear, the frames are solid and they fit on my lenses verywell. I will have to wait until I take many more pictures with the various filters to be able to makea real evaluation. But so far I am impressed. Great deal.
