Organic Shiro White Miso, 8.8 OZ

I've been buying this miso for a few years now. It's got a wonderful mild and sweet flavor. It's a touch on the softer side than a lot of brands, so it's really easy to mix into a dish. (With other brands, I often need to break out a small strainer; not so, with this one.) This is a great base miso that can be used well for such applications as soup, miso-glazed fish, and even in sweets. I really like that it's not too salty, so I can easily control the overall flavor profile of the dish independently of the salt level. That said, again, it is quite mild; for a more pronounced flavor you might want to combine it with some red miso.

This is a wonderful, non overpowering miso. Let's the taste of the food shine through while adding that miso magic.

Delicious miso! I used it to make miso peanut sauce. I would prefer re-sealable packaging, but once opened I put the bag into a zipper bag and that keeps it fresh enough.

I purchased it for its low sodium only 330 mg. I made Miso soup and it tasted really good. I will buy it again.

Haven’t used much of it yet. Nice salt/ sweet balance. Easy to cut off a corner and squeeze out the paste.

It's all in Japanese! I needed to be reassured about the nutritional info esp for the low sodium count. It had it on the Amazon site where I bought it but not on the package in English. The seller should have an English translation sticker on the package. Used it for a recipe. It tasted ok but did the job for the low sodium content.
