Quality for another product bites the dust
First of all let me say I'm a huge Teva sandal fan. Living down here in the Deep South, I count on Teva sandals to keep my feet cool, well-supported, and up for our almost daily afternoon storms. The pics show what happened when this particular pair dried. I missed the return date for defective merchandise by 3 days. I expect a lot more out of a $45 sport sandal....VERY DISSATISFIED.

Almost, but No. Teva, what happened to you?
Almost, but no. I wanted to love these, but I can't wear them. I bought my first pair of Teva's at R.E.I. in 2000. I LOVED those sandals! Comfort is everything, and I wore those shoes out. I hiked mountains in them, crossed creeks, went camping. They were perfect. But by 2015, the Velcro was worn out and they wouldn't stay on my feet anymore. The straps wouldn't stay strapped. So I went back to R.E.I., 90 miles away, to get another pair. Imagine my chagrin when I discovered that Teva had redesigned their perfect sandal to make it more fashionable. I checked a few other retail stores, but really, there was nothing at all comparable available from Teva. And I had already reluctantly thrown away my old Teva's, so I couldn't try taking them to a shoe repair shop!I was so pleased to find these Teva's here at Amazon, and placed my order right away. However, when I put them on, I knew immediately that these were nothing like my favorite shoe. These Teva's will not stay on my foot. Do I have a weird foot? The heel strap, no matter how tight I adjust it, slips right off my heel as soon as I take a step. I can't walk like that. I don't understand all the 5 star reviews.I will try Chacos next and hope to find a good, rugged sandal that fits.

comfortable
The shoes are pretty comfortable and they look great!.The foot bed is wider than a B width which is nice since I have a D width foot...other TEVAS are wayyyy too narrow for me.I like how the arch is padded somewhat and they have a slight raised heel which makesthem more comfortable to walk in than the original Teva's which are flat.I would say they run true to size.I'm a 7 1/2 (I bought the the size 8) and they are a little long on my foot which what I expected.I could havebought my true size in these.(I often have to buy a half size larger to fit my wide foot span) Most sizes are a narrow/skinny B widthI got these to go on hikes so Im hoping they'e nice to my feet I'll have to report back on that

comfort is king
With me comfort is king. It is everything when it comes to shoes. These are not beauty queen sandals, however they do look just fine on your feet. The big benefit is that you can put these on out of the box and wear them all day every day doing anything. Walking all day, working all day, gardening all day--anything is doable with these wonderful feet pamperers. I have two pairs. One pair is for beating around working outside and all that, the other pair is my lounging around and going to town pair. And you may think they are a little expensive, but considering they will last years, think how many other sandals will be in the trash long before these will show any sign of wearing out. (My work pair is 6 years old now and nothing is worn on them, save the paint splashes I got on them last summer when I was painting my front porch. Try them and you will be hooked. The arch support is great. They cradle your feet, so when walking outdoors your feet don't slide out over the side of the foot bed. The soles are heavily treaded, so traction is great if you are fording up a stream, like I love to do on a hot day, over slippery rocks in nice cool water. and they dry quickly with the soft woven straps that are of a synthetic fabric and left in the sun for a short time are all dry. Just can't say enough about these sandals. Lots of styles of this particular type of teva, (the synthetic strap kind) to choose from, and they will all give you a great fit and functionality. I haven't tried the leather ones, because I like the flexibility the woven straps give me to be in the ocean, or dirt or anywhere and wash and dry quickly without worrying about damaging the sandal, as is usually the case with leather. I have owned 4 pairs in 25 years. The first pair I ordered was too short and instead of sending them back, I wore them for a while and gave them to a nephew. He loved them. The second pair Another nephew fell in love with and I gave those to him and purchased my third pair which are on my feet at this moment and heading out to plant tomatoes. The fourth pair are waiting for use later today. I know this may sound like an infomercial of some sort but it is not. It is just that I have purchased so very many things these days that are just not what they claim to be and end up being sent back or just thrown out because of such poor quality. Even when you pay a good price for something, quality just isn't as common as it used to be years ago, when pride in workmanship really was the norm. So I get very vocal when something actually does do what it is suppose to do and really delivers. These shoes do that. I purchased these sandals at amazon, because they have an extensive selection of this brand and they also have the best prices compared with cabela's who also carry these but not in as wide a selection and not as good of prices. amazon is usually the best deal for things like this

Poor fit for me!
I was very keen to try these on, people seem to swear by them! Unhappily, they're not a comfortable sandal for me. The straps are nylon both sides, the only padding is on the rear strap where it cups the heel so the two plastic rings where the straps are threaded (especially the front one) rubbed when walking. I also found the edge of the front strap cut into the big toe. The placement of the ankle strap was too high and bites into my ankle. Such a shame, the foot bed is very spongy and you really can feel the cushioning from the shock pad in the heel, they also have great arch support. I do agree with other reviewers-they're quite a chunky sandal and where the strap doesn't overlap the bottom Velcro strip there is scope for bits of fluff etc getting stuck. As a guideline, I'm a size 8-8.5 with a wide fit but slim ankles. I also tried the Teva 'Pretty Rugged' at the same time and found the same issue with the ankle strap placement. They are virtually identical in design other than the more flexible sole which has a sleeker tread and the width across the front where they are slimmer but still plenty big enough to accommodate a 'D' fit. The 'Pretty Rugged' however are padded on the reverse of the strap and underneath the rings so were more comfortable. They have the same fab spongy soles and arch support. I'd favour these over the Hurricane.

Lovely comfy, well fitting sandals
These sandals fit perfectly. My feet are quite wide so the adjustable, velcro strap fastening is good for me. They are very comfortable and well made. A very small gripe would be that my feet get rather sweaty in them at times as the soles are rubber......but it wouldn't stop me buying another pair. I bought the blue ones, which are a really nice colour. Overall very pleased with purchase and service.

Versatile colours
I find these comfy for all general walking and have had a number of pairs over the years. Thought the nice muted colours on this pinky pair would go with a number of coloured outfits. They arrived quickly too.

Still same classic fit!
After they stopped stocking the black classic Teva hurricane, I was worried they would discontinue the line entirely, but this fits exactly as my old pair does, thrilled!
