Top of the line thermal imaging. Overlays photo over thermal signature. Flir is the only company that does this. You can't read writing with most thermal devices, with this one you can. The overlay of images makes this one of the highest quality devices around. The screen is plenty bright, and it functions great. I would definitely recomend to any thermal professional.

At the time of this review the price for these were $491 for the HTI-19 and about $1575 for the E5. Craftsmanship & Comfort: Right off the bat you can tell the difference in assembly quality. E5: Better pistol grip, hard carrying case. HTI: Feels more "toy like" has protective pouch with carrying strap. Ease of use: Both photo taking is "point & click," however the HTI-19 asks you every time if you want to save. E5 just saves. User Interface & buttons: HTI-19 menus are a little tricky but you can get used to it. The SELECT and ENTER are obscurely translated. What does select mean to you? "select between these things" or "select the option your cursor is on"? To view your photos you have to navigate through menus with no image preview. E5 Buttons are much simpler. Easy to go right to your photos by hitting the "play" button. Also has image previews. Boot up time before use: Hti-19: About 13 seconds E5: About 4 seconds Thermal Camera quality: Both claim to have a "thermal resolution" of 320x240. E5 IR images are more defined than the HTI-19. E5 saves a normal photo (648x480) at the same time as IR. HTI has 5 photo modes where progressively stronger thermal data is overlayed onto the raw photo. One click on E5 gets you 2 photos where the HTI requires 4 clicks. (since it asks you if you want to save each time) Distance detail: HTI really tries but clarity goes to the E5. Distance in photos are about 25 feet. Photo retrieval: Both can be connected to your computer via USB. E5 offers wifi/wifi direct although I haven't been able to figure that out. (haven't read the manual either) Conclusion: HTI-19 is a good budget thermal camera for fun + more. But if you want the professional look and feel then the E5 with more features is a better choice.

Living next to the Canadian border in the center of the country, I got this to do audits on homes to find where Mr. Winter in creeping into houses. Wow!!! It's amazing to be able to see very clearly where homes are not insulated well and where the leaks are. You can even see the studs in the walls. Heated floors you can see if any of the pipes are leaking. On electric heated floors you can see if any of the pads are not heating. Definitely and amazing tool to have. I'm still getting used to the software for making reports to present to customers, but it is nice to have that option with Flir offering the free reporting software.

This product has been amazing so far. During home inspector training, my mentor had an E8 that he taught me on. After hours and hours of product research, I couldn’t justify the thousand dollar price difference between the E6 and the E8 when starting up my own business. This camera does everything that the E8 does and I can barely tell the difference between the image/thermal quality. Definitely recommend this for the home inspection profession, well worth the money when you can make it right back. A thermal camera, which you should use at every inspection, is not a tool that I would cheap out on in this line of work! Thanks FLIR! I give five stars because I am a nice guy. I actually ended up returning this back. I found a number of sample images on flir's website, and online. Images were kindda noisy in comparing to the ones on their site and elsewhere. I am almost thinking there is some false advertisement here. I am not an expert on infrared cameras but I was not able to get such clear images even after playing intensively with camera settings. Maybe, the camera I got was not calibrated properly, but it should have been since it is a brand new product. I believe you can find identify in many applications with this camera. Also, one battery was totally dead which they would probably replace if I complained. I just was not sure about advertised quality. Make sure you compare images you see on your camera with the official ones they claim you will get. If you think there is false advertising report it.

We are only using for informational purposes but has been helpful in area thermography rather than point of contact temperature usage.

The camera is easy enough to use but when attempting to transfer photos to a android smart phone via the WiFi it becomes impossible. First of all it requires a mobil hotspot to transfer from the WiFi camera to my WiFi phone. Why must I have a mobile connection to make such a transfer? If you are in a basement or otherwise out of range of your mobile network it will not work. It is required to "send" the photos to yourself? When attempting to do this the most photo apps are disabled for some reason and as shown in the attached photo, the Amazon app cannot find the photo. Even though the photos are viewable in the FLIR app they are not visible in the File app of the smart phone. If you want to otherwise use or edit the photos outside of the FLIR app it is impossible to do. I suppose this is to keep the photos in the FLIR app so that the FLIR logo cannot be removed? Repeated email responses from tech support could not solve these problems. Very disappointed with the proprietary nature of the scan results.

Die Kamera ist grandios und macht nicht nur gute und detaillierte Bilder, sondern weist auch zahlreiche nützliche Funktionen auf. Für den Hobbyanwender mehr als ausreichend. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig und die Lieferung erfolgt in einem ebenfalls hochwertigen Transportkoffer. Was vor meinem Kauf jedoch nicht ersichtlich war, auch nicht aus der Bedienungsanleitung, ist, dass alle Kameras der Ex-Serie hardwaretechnisch identisch sind und nur über die Software limitiert werden. Ein Grund für den Kauf war für mich u. a. die Option, die Temperaturskala manuell einstellen zu können. Dies ist jedoch bei der E5 nicht vorgesehen. Stattdessen kann nur die Temperaturskala fixiert werden. Dies lässt sich nirgends erlesen. In der Anleitung wird zwar auf die Funktion hingewiesen, jedoch nicht erläutert, dass die E5 dies originär nicht kann. So etwas in der geutigen Zeit ist ein no Go. Nach etwas Recherche ließ sich dieser "Softwaremalus" jedoch regeln. Ebenfalls bedauerlich ist, dass eine direkte Verbindung von Kamera zu Handy per WiFi ausschließlich per Applehandy möglich ist. Bei Android bedarf es des Umweges über ein bestehendes Netzwerk oder über die Hotspotfunktion eines Androidgerätes. In der heutigen Zeit sehr umständlich und nicht intuitiv. Die Handyapp für Android ist ebenfalls unterirdisch. Im Ergebnis können die Bilder mit der App lediglich auf ein Mobilgerät gezogen und mit einem Kommentar versehen werden. Eine nachträgliche Bearbeitung der Bilder auf dem Mobilgerät ist un der App nicht möglich. Eine Bildbearbeitung am PC ist nur über eine separate Software mit Monatsabo möglich. Fazit: Die Kamera ist top, die Mobile App ein flop. Wer diese nicht benötigt kann beherzt zu der E5 greifen. Mit etwas Lektüre im Internet und Vorbereitung lässt sich auch noch wesentlich mehr aus dem Gerät herausholen.

Uno dei prodotti FLIR di fascia media. La praticità d'uso si equipara alla sua precisione ed accuratezza. Le funzioni sono molto intuitive, menù disponibile in italiano. Molte funzioni disponibili come le modalità di visualizzazione consentono di ottenere report (generati con l'applicazione proprietaria scaricabile gratuitamente ) davvero ben fatti e comprensibili anche ai non addetti ai lavori. Peso davvero contenuto, ergonomia ottima, il trasporto nella sua valigetta permette di evitare danni e colpi accidentali, anche se la stessa è protetta contro le cadute fino a 2 m di altezza. La durata della batteria è nella norma, considerato che è presente una seconda di scorta non si rischia mai di rimanere a piedi.

Es la primera cámara infrarroja que tengo, por lo que no puedo comparar con otras. El manejo es muy sencillo, y la calidad de imagen e información es muy buena. Llevo un mes con ella, y estoy muy contento de la compra.
