Does ir hurt when applying? Need to remove a plantar ward from a 5 year old and she is very skiddish. Thanks!

Karin, I have been using these for a while, and have fought a wart on my finger to a standstill, but not gotten rid of it.  It is a freezing treatment, and doesn't hurt at first, but as you are to apply it for the recommended 40 seconds, starts hurting before the end, and stings a while afterwards.   It hurts less than hitting the wart against something, though.  My wart is about a quarter of an inch across: if your daughter's is smaller, I think you may be able to get rid of it entirely.  They also make a brush on liquid to use with the freezing to dry up the skin and cause it to peel faster.  That is entirely painless.

It depends on 3 things.
1. What area(s) you are treating
2. how long the contact is
3. your individual pain threshold.

The most I'VE felt is a minor pain-usually its more of a discomfort that quickly goes away. 
If you're doing the soles of your feet, where parts of them have skin ithat is USUALLY the thickest on the body, you might feel some discomfort, but on any areas where skin is much thinner and there are more nerve ending per unit area (face or hands for examples) you are more liable to feel it more. 
If you are VERY concerned about the possible pain, try holding an ice cube against the area first-that will temporarily numb it.
