works great and gives me the flexibility I need when using the telephone
The initial adapter that came with the headset was not compatible with the AT&T model 1187 telephone I use for land line calls. After several contacts with Sennheiser Customer Support they finally added the AT&T model phones to the reference table they have on their website and even suggested the adapter to use with my particular type phone. I ordered the adapter from Merritt Communications and it arrived earlier than expected leaving me with high regards for the Customer Support groups at Merritt Communications as well as Sennheiser. I participate in weekly group telecoms which can last for a couple of hours. Most of the calls are accompanied by presentations on the computer. This adapter allows me flexibility to be on the phone without using the speaker phone or having to worry about holding the hand held receiver the entire time. This frees my hands to be on the computer as needed to support the presentation being made. This cable adapter certainly meets my needs and I would recommend it to anyone having similar requirements. Obviously this particular adapter is not meant for cell phones but works great with land lines.

Using with Sennheiser SC260 and Nortel Phone
Works great with my Nortel M3xxx phone. Audio sounds great over this cable. I had bought the CSTD-08 which was the wrong cable for my Nortel phone initially. This cable fixed it all (I even tried to re-wire the 08 cable, but everything was super quiet on it and the microphone didn't work).

Doesn't work.
Microphone of my headset doesn't work with this adapter. Only speakers work. I use Sennheiser Binaural Headset (CC 550). Waste of money. Too bad I can't return this product as I don't live in the U.S. anymore.

Plugs in and works
This plugged right in and has worked well so far. If you are getting a Sennheiser headset that needs an cable for direct connection that will plug into a normal phone jack, this is what you need.

Not the one I wanted but if it is what you are looking for - exactly as described, worked perfectly, great communication would recommend purchasing from this vendor if anyone is considering this type of purchase

This product ignores RJ 11 connectivity standards
I have a Sennheiser binaural headset model SH 250. Finding a RJ11 adapter for it is a nightmare. In order to keep a captive market for their expensive bottom cables, Sennheiser has customized its connecting gables for specific makes of phones. You never know in advance if the cable is going to work with your phones unless you query the Sennheiser website to determine the proper cable. Do not buy these cables thinking that the appearance of the RJ11 plug assures usability. I am fed up running around looking for the right cable for the right phone. They need to go back to the standard RJ11 and its wiring. I am returning my Sennheiser headset to R&J Computer, who is totally clueless Sennheiser SH250 Binaural Headset with Microphone about at they are selling.

Adapter Cable
This cable CSTD-01 will not fit your BlackBerry or Apple iphone. You need the GSM-ADP-CBB01 that has the 3.5mm plug that will fit the Apple iphone and the BlackBerry. I found mine at CDW Direct. [...] It cost me $53.99 plus shipping, over half as much as the cc550 headset cost. I could not locate this cable anywhere else for a cheeper price. Way to much for just a adapter cable.
