I am new to this – so I hope this is nota stupid question. Do combs come with this set? Isnt it the combs that allow to cut longer or shorter?

No it does not come with combs. It depends on the blade size for how short the hair cut will be. The higher the number, the shorter the cut. The letter F after the number means fine. If your dog has a thick coat you don’t want an F blade. This one comes with a 10 blade which is pretty short. I have a schnauzer and for her cut I had to buy a 7F for her body and a 3F (I should have bought a 3 because of how curly her fur is).

Not sure which one comes with a porcelain cutter but this model will take a porcelain cutter. I’ve bought replacement porcelain heads from Petsmart and they work just fine.
