Wow just wow - classic case of "you get what you pay for"
I was so anxious to try this thing out when it arrived today and while normally I like to wait a while before I leave a review, I could not resist doing it now after just a short trial run. I want to preface this by saying I am not a huge lawn maintenance guy and until last year have never owned a lawn sprinkler and pretty much cut my lawn only when it needed it and did not fertilize or care for weeds. I knew virtually nothing about and had no passion for lawn care. However, I do like golf and decided to dedicate 2500 sq ft of my two acre lot to use for chipping practice. So I set out last summer to make it a pristine area with zero weeds and fairway type grass which I maintain with a rotary reel type push mower. This required be to do some fertilizing and over-seeding - both of which benefit from having a good sprinkler. I did not think it was necessary to spend a lot of money to get a decent sprinkler....but I was wrong. The first sprinkler I purchased cost me about $9 and it was a piece of junk. In only a few weeks it started to hang up and leak and just not do a good job - plus it was too light and would lean one way or the other unless I weighed it down. So I decided to drop the dime and get a good one and the Rocky Mountain Goods Metal Oscillating Lawn Sprinkler is everything I wanted...and more. It is a nice, relatively heavy, well made metal sprinkler with some real nice features. It has sliders to set the limits in each direction which is real nice. It has a flow control so you can, well...control the flow. It even has six (three on each side) outlets you can shut off to narrow the width of the spray. That along with the flow control makes it real easy to place it and adjust to target a specific area and not waste water in places that do not need it. The thing I like the best though is the weight of this sprinkler. It is very solid and lays completely flat when you place it where you want. In the end it is one of those things you buy where you definitely get what you pay for. If you are looking for a top of the line lawn sprinkler, look no further. Yeah it's not cheap and there might be some others that are in the middle of the price range, but if you just want to get a good one from the start and not waste your time and money...I cannot recommend this one enough. Of course I have not used it very long so time will tell if it holds up well and I will update this review if something changes. Still though, I know enough about mechanical things to say this is one well made piece of hardware, and I am very confident it will last a long time and can recommend it without hesitation.

Dram is History - Rocky Mountain Goods is the new Big Dog
I wore out a couple of Dram sprinklers. I really liked them and they did a good job, but they got old. The internal gear mechanism gets worn and they don't osolate any more. I called Dram and asked to buy parts. "No, we don't service our products." So, I filled out warranty (lifetime) info with video etc. Maybe, a new sprinkler? No response to multiple inquiries. Long story short, I decided to try another brand. I purchased two different versions of the Rocky Mountain Goods sprinklers and am vey pleased with both. They are light and seem to be well made with very little resistance to motion which allows you to use them at lower pressures. The adjustments are intutative and rubust in construction. I like these sprinklers. They also come with a lifetime warranty, but I don't know of any company that actually honors their warranties. Best thing is they are 30% cheaper than their Dram counterparts and appear better made. Time is the test. I am optomistic.

This is a great sprinkler!
I've only had it a day, but am actually excited about a sprinkler. Covers a huge area with great pressure, but you can still adjust it to fit any space. Well-machined, feels solid, adjustable in multiple ways and in small increments. I'm used to adjusting flow at the faucet, but it also has a dial right on the sprinkler that works well. I am really happy with this. I even stood and watched it, it's so impressive. I thought the sprinkler I had before was OK, but it was pretty crude compared to this. One reviewer mentioned difficulty connecting it, but even though the connection is small, I had no trouble and found it easy.

Works Great
Works great and the adjustments keep the sprinkling within the lawn boundaries. It has a nice weight to it, which keeps it from slip sliding away. I notched it down to 4 stars because the brass nut (brass good) is hardly grippable (bad), forcing me to rotate and twist mostly the hose when attaching. They could have easily and cheaply encased the brass nut with a grippable plastic. Now I will need to jury rig some tape or something else in order to make it grippable..

Made to last seven weeks, COME ON!
7 weeks! Just two weeks after the deadline for return to Amazon. This sprinkler, as expense as it was, stopped oscillating. I bought this sprinkler to completely cover my area requirement. The (5 year old) oscillating sprinkler I bought at the local hardware store (much simpler design and only $20 (I think) back in the day) does not quite cover the area required. But, it still works! Now, I guess, I get to deal with a product replacement (which I would prefer not to do sighting quality issues) or REFUND $$'s from the manufacturer. (I would prefer an REFUND, please.) All the engineering that went into this sprinkler and it stops working! This that make me go hum-m-m. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET SUPPORT FROM ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOODS I HAVE GIVEN UP. ALL ATTEMPTS FAILED. THE LINK FOR SUPPORT PROVIDED ON THE AMAZON MARKET PAGE RESPONDS "404". I CANNOT SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH >>>DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!<<<

So much better than the mostly-plastic sprinklers!
The metal construction is terrific: they don't break down in the hot sun, the controls are easy to use, and the coverage options on them are great. We have wide areas, skinny areas, and shrub beds which are easily managed with just a few tweaks of the lever and button controls. Just bought our second set so now we have one per hose location. They are lightweight, easy to store, and can cover anything from a large lawn area to a narrow strip of shrubs. Highly recommended.

Does a good job. I bought this one because it looked sturdy. Its in a zone on a timer that is the dogs throw zone. It gets pegged by a extra large kong from time to time while also being knocked around by a enthusiast lab. Im asking quite a bit from this sprinkler and its still doing its job well. Heck, I haven't even had to readjust it aside from moving it back into position from time to time. I reckon I've put this thing to the test above call of duty. No complaints.
