AN-MR19BA Magic Remote Control (2019 Model)

Ever since I bought my LG 43UK6400PLF I have been using the original non magic remote. Its a good remote but this Magic Remote is certainly much better in most ways. Saying that its missing some buttons that the standard remote has. I've seen people ask if this works with the 43UK6400 and yes it does. It works perfectly with my 2018 model. The standard remote control allowed me to use the media controls (Play , Pause , Stop , fast Forward and rewind) to control my Panasonic UB391 4K UHD Blu ray player without any need to do any setting up of the remote. This remote control allows me to control the player after setting it up. But as I mentioned this remote control is missing some media control buttons. The Fast Forward , Rewind and stop buttons are missing here unlike the standard remote control. Its not a huge deal but a bit of a nuisance because to use those functions you need to press the button above the channel up arrow button which has three dots on it and on screen media controls show which gives much more control than the standard remote control. But it would be nice if they included the fast forward , rewind and stop buttons on the remote control for convenience instead of making you go a few more steps than necesary to use those functions. I mentioned this remote control unlocks functions on the TV. Well it does with my TV because my TV came with the Original LG TV Remote Control AKB75375608. I can control my SKY+ HD box with the remote control too. This remote control allows you to setup the remote control to work with different devices connected to the TV. Not only that but unlike the remote control that came with the TV I had to press the options menu for sound , picture etc then scroll to the bottom of the quick access to open the TV settings. With this remote control you hold the options button for a few seconds and the full TV settings will appear. Long pressing the home button brings up a quick access type of menu at the bottom for netflix and HDMI inputs. It also has the on screen pointer which is very very handy. Its a bit fiddly to get the on screen pointer to appear sometimes though. Theres also the scroll wheel on it which is handy in apps like netflix , Amazon Prime or youtube. Theres also the voice command but I haven't set it up so I have no idea how good it is. There is one additional button that I think they need to either remove or make it so that you can reconfigure it to the media player on the TV. The Movies button. it doesn't do anything on my TV. I only have this remote control with three days and I am still finding out new things it can does and unlocks with the TV. LG should ship the magic remote control with all TV's instead of locking features away on some TV's because you don't own the remote control. Its just a pitty that they didn't include the fast forward , Rewind and stop buttons on the remote control itself. Hopefully they will rectify this. I hope this review was helpful in your buying decision of this remote control

An excellent replacement to the original.

The standard remote supplied by LG is basically crap. The button layout is appalling, seemingly deliberately so, and it's hard to feel by touch alone where you are on the remote, leading to many incorrect button presses. But worst of all, the TV this was supplied with has extensive voice control facilities, including access to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and the standard remote can access none of those features. The LG AN-MR19BA Magic Remote Control fixes almost all of that and is absolutely what LG should have included from the outset, but I guess they wanted to hit a headline price point for their TV. But it's not perfect. The button layout is vastly improved, with a much more usable control ring and centre button, but the control ring needs to be near the top of the remote. In fact, if the entire remote was redesigned with everything the other way up from the top to the bottom of the upper surface, except for the power button, it would be a lot better. Curiously, the original remote has buttons for Audio Description and Subtitles. This one only has a button for Audio Description and has omitted the far more useful button for subtitles. Another frustrating oddity is that this remote has no backlighting to make it easy to use in the dark: at this price point it’s an annoying omission. Setting up voice control has also been a bit of a pain in the arśe. Nothing like as easy as with an Amazon Fire TV stick. An unexpected bonus was that this remote also includes a simple point and wave control feature. But it's a little bit annoying and imprecise. A big improvement would have been to add a single "Apps" button as accessing various apps on this TV is awkward and inconsistent: some, like Netflix, Prime Video and Rakuten TV have their own dedicated direct access buttons. But there is no single button which will call up a screen showing all the apps at once. That is probably more a criticism of the TV operating system than of this remote itself though. Despite the criticisms, the TV I bought (LG-43UM7400) is FAR more usable and user-friendly using this enhanced remote which I'd highly recommend as being a VITAL purchase if you want to get the most of what you paid for from the TV itself.

Good magic remote does what it says on the box

It turns out I didn't need to buy this as the LG TV I bought came with a Magic Remote - contrary to the listed product information on Amazon. Never mind. I have another LG TV and this are backward compatible so I might switch it over to my older set, as the buttons are slightly differently laid out from older models. As for the remote itself - it's great. It's basically a lite-version of a universal remote, capable of controlling almost anything you might plug into your TV. I have it controlling my TV, soundbar, Sky box, Xbox One and I know it also controls a Fire Stick. The dedicated Netflix and Amazon buttons are a nice improvement from my previous version (2016, I believe) and the remote itself is very intuitive. I find the pointer function is a little hit and miss at times, but it's not a major problem. Also credit to the seller - this would have arrived a day earlier than indicated had I been available to answer the door to postie. Fast service, well packaged. Would recommend.

Terrible. Constantly drops connection to the tv. Batteries are brand new and power light reacts but all other buttons don’t work. Have reconnected to the tv many times. But continues to drop connection. Manuals all say this is compatible with my tv.

J'étais à la recherche d'une télécommande magique de LG identique a celui dont j'avais car ma petite cousine aurait apparemment dit que la télécommade avait "disparue" depuis environ 2 semaines malgré étant la seule utilisatrice de la télévision (NANO86 49 po). En regardant tous les multitude de choix de ce modèle quasiment identique d'un fournisseur a l'autre sur le marché amazon et avec les commentaires des gens, j'étais très sceptique mais je voulais prendre une chance d'essayer. Mon choix s'est arrêté à ce fournisseur là qui "SEMBLE" être directement lié à la compagnie LG. lors de l'installation des piles, une information est apparue directement en haut à droite de l'écran que je n'ai pas eu le temps de lire et tout d'un coup la télécommade est devenu fonctionnel en un claquement de doigts. Tous les touches de la télécommade est opérationnel (surtout pointeur et commande vocal) c'est comme si la télécommade n'a jamais été soi-disant disparue. Étant coûteux côté prix, je le recommande fortement et je suis satisfaite de mon achat. Le modèle de la télécommande s'avère être MR20 et non MR19 comme mentionné sur le nom de l'article.
