It’s great watch for me

It’s amazing that you can get a product like this for the price. It’s big and heavy, but feels quite comfortable on the wrist. However, the buckle on the strap kept popping off every time I put it on or took it off. I would have to fumble around for 5 or 10 minutes trying to get the spring bar back into the holes of the buckle, sometimes just to find that I had put it on upside down and have to repeat the whole process. I finally got to where I could do it in less than 30 seconds, but the main thing that I learned was to never apply pressure to the strap buckle in any direction other than absolutely straight in line with the wristband. Otherwise it will cause the spring bar to pop out of the holes in the buckle and now you’ve got yourself a challenge to get it back on. My take is that the holes in the buckle are not drilled deep enough, or have been filled in slightly by the plating process, and that’s causing them to be shallower and also perhaps slightly rounded. I contacted the company and they wanted me to return the watch to Amazon, but I know that it is a design issue and I would just get another one with exactly the same problem. So I figured out how to get the watchband on without the buckle popping off, and also the band has softened up quite a bit, which reduces the pressure. When brand new, the watchband is extremely stiff and I can pretty much guarantee you that you will have the same problem that I did. Twist, bend and fold the leather to get it to be more flexible before you even put it on the first time. Having said all that, I love the watch.

I love this watch. High polish and unique dial are awesome. Very comfortable on the wrist. Keeps accurate time. One anomaly that just started is that, when setting the time and turning the crown clockwise, the hands turn backwards. Turn the crown counterclockwise and the hands turn forward. The watch had been sitting unworn for a month so maybe this started this unusual glitch. I'll let it run down and reset it and see if it corrects itself.

Watch is good looking, smooth movement. Buckle on the band is horrible. Buckle snapped off while unwrapping, reinstalled it, snapped off again putting watch on. New watch band will be here tomorrow ! It appears to be a mechanical defect, the holes for the spring loaded pin are not drilled deep enough.

Fancy watch

Watch appeared nice when I opened the package. Set it, wore it all day, appears to keep time well. Then I took it off! The clasp broke off. I reassembled it figuring it may just have been a fluke from the factory. Wore this off and on a few more days, and the clasp fell off a second time. Upon further inspection, it appears one of the holes in the clasp was not drilled/cast deed enough to allow the retaining pin to recess into it. So I contact Sauer to get a warranty claim. THEY REFUSED TO EVEN LISTEN TO ME ABOUT THE ISSUE! They only wanted me to mail it to them at my expense, plus $29.95. I'm sorry, not the way warranties work. They left me with no option but to return this for a full refund. This company is apparently only out to take your money for inferior products which they do not stand behind. Not a Company I will ever do business with again
