Yescom 1/2" to 2" Hydraulic Knockout Punch Set 10-Ton 6-Die Electrical Conduit Hole Punch Driver Kit for Metal Stainless Steel - Red

I have had this item for a few months now. I've only used it twice. But as you can see from the pictures because holes very nicely! I don't cut holes very often and so that's why I chose to go with this I don't, I just so happened to need it, and today I was in a position where I didn't know I would need it so it really came in handy! It does not have any instructions, you may have to look up a brainly set and try to get instructions from that perhaps, but since I had news the Green resets in the past I was able to figure it out. First there is nothing about this punch that is Pneumatic, it is hydraulic. The unit is very reasonably priced and it works great. I used it to punch a couple of approx. 2" holes in an electronic equipment rack. It was a four step process, drill a small pilot hole then drill that hole out to around 1/2". Then you can use the 3/4" punch to open the hole to allow the larger punch to be used. Finally the larger punch. All in all a good experience. The operation of the punch was easier than expected, no difficult anything.

This review is for "Pneumatic 10 Ton Air Hydraulic Knockout Punch Drive Hole Complete Set Metal Case 1/2 to 2 Dies". I don't know why it says "Pneumatic" it is hydraulic. No air involved. It works fine. I punched several 1-1/2 holes without any problem. I drilled a 15/32 pilot hole, and used the 1/2" punch to make the pilot hole for the larger 1-1/2" punch. It worked well. I've only two complaints: 1) the box has a Styrofoam insert to separate the items and protect them from damage. It's rubbish. Mine was broken apart upon delivery. 2) the description does not indicate any difference between the red and the yellow kit, yet the red one is $8 more. I bought the red one based on one community answer that said the red one had ten punches. This is not true. The red one also has 6 punches.

I like the way it works, punches 2 inch holes with ease I have punched a couple of dozen holes mostly 1 1/2 and 2 inch with no problems the hose is stiff and it doesn’t have a swivel joint but is very durable. There’s no real instructions that come with it but if you are used to using this type of tool it is very self explanatory. The die’s are good and sharp and show no signs of wear so I am very pleased with the purchase and would buy again if needed.

This needs to be standard in any electrician's van. Unless you like burning up expensive bimetal holesaws and making unclean cuts with tons of collateral scraping. My panel changes now directly bolt up to old service holes because this makes the hole exactly where I need it. It is exact, so there isn't much slack for adjustment. I primarily cut out 2" holes but have also used it for 1.5" holes as well. The design is competent, durable, and well made. The hole cuts clean and releases clean. No struggling to release the cookie. I chucked the garbage standard metal case (with its deceptive latches that don't latch) it comes with as fast and far as I could and store the tool in a tool bag with the bits inside a durable zipper container for optimal organization. Indispensable tool even if it wears out quickly.

We bought this punch to punch 3-1/2" holes through 1.2mm steel cabinet. In order to do this, we had to drill a hole large enough the punch a 1/2 hole to hit the ramrod for the 3-1/2 in punch. The seal on the head blew with the 1/2 in punch on 4 pumps. They did send spare seals ( i now know why) but I was afraid to rebuild it as it might not be returnable then. The system weighs about 100# and would be terribly inconvenient to return. We are in contact with the supplier who has asked 3 times for pics that were sent. Hoping we can just replace the head. There's a reason the seal blew and rebuilding it may not solve the problem. Waiting for a response.

Beware! My issue is with YESCOM not the device itself. The good: The product works fine, exactly what it is meant to do. The Bad: The seller, YESCOM!! NO customer service. 1 of the small studs and nut arrived with defective threads in the box, unusable. I've emailed Yescom many times. They have responded to my emails several times by telling me they can sell me another one. I keep telling them it was defective from the manufacturer. And again, they replay with a blank stare and tell me to pay them. This of course comes from the Orient so I don't expect it to last a lifetime and for the price I accept that. But, I don't accept defective parts straight from the manufacturer. Bottom line, buy this if you are OK with receiving defective parts, because YESCOM will NOT make it right. If I do receive defective parts from the manufacturer., I do expect a replacement. Which Yescom is unwilling to do. UPDATE: They only offer a 30 day warranty And I'm not sure if they would even honor that. I tried to buy the small stud and they put me thru the ringer asking a thousand questions. This is metric so the greenlee studs don't work.

I'm always skeptical of these cheap Chinese tools, but at less than 10% of the cost of a Greenlee punch set, I thought I'd give it a try. When I pulled out the instruction manual I got a bit nervous. Firstly, it calls the tool a "hydraulic hole digger" and the rest of the "manual" (if you can call a single small sheet of folded paper a manual) is written in horrible, nonsensical "Chinglish" and doesn't actually tell you how to use the tool. However, upon looking at the dies and the tool, they appeared to be of decent quality. The metal case is fairly decent, but the styrofoam insert that holds the parts in place kind of sucks. I just pulled it out and tossed it. My first use of this tool was to make a hole in a 15 gauge stainless steel box. I was enlarging an existing hole, so I didn't need to make a pilot hole. However, if you do, you'll need a 7/16" or 11mm hole for the 1/2" and 3/4" K.O. dies and a 13/16" or 20mm hole for the 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" K.O. dies. I assembled the die set on the tool and a couple pumps of the handle later, the die went right through like it was nothing! I've only used the tool for one hole, so I can't really comment on the longevity of the tool. If something should happen, I'll update my review. It should also be noted that this set includes a set of o-rings to rebuild the hydraulic part.
