Solid quality and perfect fit !
Seems to be a solid well built part which should last a while - I made the mistake of buying cheaper front end kit made by Detroit diesel which lasted less than 5k miles ! Should have purchased the oem quality first time around and saved myself twice the headache of replacing these parts ! Lesson learnt ! Also this unit slides properly onto the splines and when torqued properly fits like the original with two full threads protruding past the nut ! Torqued to 186 ft/lb

CURE YOUR MYSTERY BUMP STEER ISSUE
If you or a loved one have been affected by bump steer after using an aftermarket pitman arm you may be entitled to financial compensation… All jokes aside this is your problem. I chased a bump steer issue after doing a front end refresh on my 2004 Silverado 1500. I first noticed something was off when the aftermarket pitman arm didn’t sit as far up on the splines as my original did no matter how much you try to tighten. Went online and many people claimed this was just the norm on the aftermarket pitman arms. I wasn’t happy because you could visibly see the center link was quite abit lower on the driver side. A quick test with a level proved it was bad. I went as far as to reinforce the factory idler arm bracket that is welded to the frame by adding a gusset for strength thinking since everyone said the pitman arm thing was normal, then I must just have excessive flex on the idler arm side. Nope still not solved. Then finally I gave in and ordered this here ac delco pitman arm. Immediately it went all the way up the splines just like OEM with several threads showing past the nut. Centerlink ended up straight and going on a drive through some bumps quickly confirmed that my issue was now gone. Do yourself a favor and buy this. How long it will last who knows, the joint itself is noticeably smaller than the original and the other aftermarket brands. I would rather replace this more often and have a nice ride if that ends up being the case. In case you’re unaware bump steer is when you hit a dip and the steering wheel turns one way, or you hit a bump/hill and the steering wheel goes the other way

AC Delco Professional is the way to fly
AC Delco Professional is the way to fly. The idler mount, arm, and pitman arm are only about $60 total more than the same parts in the ACDelco Advantage line, but the Professional line is much beefier. They work for the GMT 800 trucks. Strongly recommend the OTC 6496 Close Quarters Pitman Arm Puller for Truck/SUV, given the frame on these trucks; that puller is the best $60 your may ever spend. In addition to stopping the tire wear issues with the old idler and pitman arms, this made a huge difference in the ride quality of my truck at highway speeds! I used Mystik JT-6 Hi-Temp lithium-complex grease to lube them up, and all the ball joints and tie rods. It's a high temp grease for wheel bearings, but cheap and has killer specs (they do list it as a chassis grease).

Looks great, bought as a gift for my son. Thought AC Delco was Made in USA, this was China.

It's a disapointment.
The part is not as thick as the OEM. The spline will not fit the steering gear far enough to allow the dust boot to be slid down to protect the gear spline. If you slide it down it will expose the steering gear entrance. Also, the ball stud has a castle nut that is small when torqued to spec it is 1/4" up from the cotter cross hole. I purchased 2 of these thinking I got a bad one, wrong the 2nd came the same. Called ACDELCO and didn't get any answers to the issue. Buy a genuine or a Moog. Whichever $ you want to spend. I went genuine, don't want to swap again.

It's a lot lighter duty then orginal. The description does not say how many master splines it has. This part has 4 master groove splines.
