I've had all kinds of experiences with umbrellas, and this one wins. I'd recently purchased (and promptly returned) a WindPro umbrella that turned into a portable birdbath after five steps in mild winds. When I received this umbrella I knew from the moment I picked it up that it was solid and strong. It took a little more effort to open than other umbrellas do, but the force required to lock it out keeps it from inverting in strong winds. I can't say I've had it in hurricane winds yet, but the storms it's weathered thus far leave me confident that it'll stand up to a gale. The blunt tips are also quite nice, since I tend to walk with the family and don't want to put any eyes out. This is a great umbrella, bot functionally and stylistically!

The best umbrella i have found. Very well constructed and sturdy. Good value for money. Closes and opens early. Size is perfect and not too heavy.

out of the blue it broke after a year (still under warranty) wrote to the company but they ask me to send the umbrella, which was a birthday gift & is now in Colombia. to send it would be more expensive than buy a new one. Ask them to ship the part (to the same addresss they ship the order) and i will have it repaired (my uncle who have a byke workshop could have it fixed in 5mins having the part). they say No. You can tell the whole "Repair not replace" "to save waste from going to landfill whilst saving you money" its a empty sale point, sheer... pose. Dont buy this if you are outside the US. I guess this one is going to the waste landfill when it was so fixable having the part. What an expensive umbrella for just one year of use!

I have purchased two umbrellas from Blunt, this is hands down the best umbrellas I have bought. When I was walking to work, one of the arms on my cheap $20 umbrella had broke and I was fed up with having to purchase a new umbrella every year. I went online, did some research and read about the design and reviews from real people. I was sold, the umbrellas have held up so far and design/build quality is superb. Yes, there are much cheaper umbrellas out there but for a long-term investment, it's worth every penny.

Not the most attractive design - chunky and plasticky - but so far has proven rugged and effective.

Well made

I like the rugged construction and I like that so far the wind has not flipped it inside out. One thing that has been a very small problem but nothing that cannot be easily overcome is fitting it back into its canvas sleeve. Seems like if it gets wet and then dried out it tends to puff it up a little bit making it a little more challenging to get it back into its sleeve.
