Something that felt like a warm, comforting hug for my complaining muscles. That's when I found the Thermophore MaxHEAT Automatic Moist Heat Pack. I saw "Moist Heat" and "Automatic" and thought, "Does this thing generate its own spa-like steam? Does it know exactly where I hurt?" When this heating pad arrived, it felt substantial. It's not flimsy; it's got a nice weight to it, and the cover feels soft and plush. It looked less like a medical device and more like a cozy blanket that secretly possesses healing powers. Using it for the first time was a revelation. You just plug it in, lay it on the offending body part, and within moments, you feel this deep, penetrating heat. And it's moist heat, which apparently gets deeper into your muscles than dry heat. It's like a warm, soothing wave washing over your aches. My back, which was previously staging a full-blown protest, slowly began to relax and send signals of tentative peace. The automatic timer is a lifesaver. It shuts off after 25 minutes, so I don't have to worry about falling asleep and accidentally turning myself into a human烤鴨 (roast duck). It's a simple, one-touch control, even my pain-addled brain can handle it. If your muscles are tight, your joints are stiff, or you just appreciate the simple, profound comfort of deep, moist heat, this heating pad is fantastic. It's well-made, easy to use, and provides serious relief. It's become my go-to for soothing away the complaints of my body. My aches have met their match, and I'm thoroughly impressed with this warm, comforting workhorse.

I originally balked at the price, but purchased as I need HEAT on my leg due to nerve pain. Regular heating pads were insufficient. I use this on the 2nd setting as 3rd is too hot. I use directly on skin (with the cover in place). Maybe w sweat pants, 3rd would be okay. It has some weight, which helps with relief. It does turn off after 25 mins, but I just turn it back on. The size covers from. My thigh to ankle and drapes over. I hope it lasts, because of what I paid. I have it on when I'm sitting. Recommend if you're looking for a heavy duty heating pad.

this is a great heating pad. the heat level is great and it really gets hot not just barely warm on the highest setting like the other ones.

This sucker gets HOT on the HIGH heating option. Option 1, the lowest, is too mild. Option 2, medium, is perfect AFTER I let it heat up on 3, high heat, for five minutes ONLY! The only MAJOR problem I have with it is its lasting only 25 minutes. Kinda useless if you have it only on medium! Forget what it says about leaving it off for x-amount of time in between uses - just reset it for medium again right away before it cools down and you’ll be much better off and get REAL therapy from it! Don’t forget, this thing takes a good 5- mins to heal up, so now you’re down to 20-mins, MAX! A far better design would be to have the lowest setting last 2-hrs, medium last 1-hr and the highest setting lasting only 10-15 minutes. You can’t endure the highest setting for 25-minutes!!!! Item is indeed heavy enough to use while on your stomach with it laying on your back. But I prefer either laying straight down on it on my back and closing my eyes. However, don’t get too into it. It’s off in 25-mins! SuCkS!!!! Due to its being extra long and having the longer control switch, I can lay on my side with the heating pad under/around my lower back with a beach towel laid underneath it and lengthwise, and pulled up and around and tucked back in front of me under my belly, holding it firmly against my back. Pure relief. Keep controller easily handy to turn back on.

This sucker gets HOT! My old heating pad crapped out and this came in clutch! I’ve never had such a hot heating pad. I can only use the high setting for a short amount of time. Instant relief, actually has helped me fold my laundry so bonus points! Nice design, it’s soft and comfortable. The cover for the actual heating pad is very thick and nice. And also to mention this thing is huge! I’m 5’5” and it’s basically up to my knee. It can easily wrap around my whole torso providing incredible 360 relief. You can tell this is quality made, we will see how it stands against the test of time!

I have used heating pads for years and years staring back with "cramps". Purchased this brand after using one in physical therapy and feeling the incredible difference. This is by far the very best heating pad I have used to date!! The moist heat penetrates DEEP to your bones like nothing I have ever felt. High is TOO hot for me which is a first. This is my second thermophore as my first just stopped one day after 3 years of daily use. Pros: 1. Heats up slowly and goes off slowly so sometimes i don't realize it's off. 2. Deep heats like NOTHING else, grabbing moisture from the air is no joke! 3. Turns off automatically so I don't get burned (for too long haha) and if I get distracted or interupted I don't waste electricy for hours or pose a fire hazard by forgetting to turn it off. 4. Super LARGE so my entire back gets treatment if I want causing my entire body relax as my pain is relieved somewhat. CONS: 1. Cord is in the middle of one end so it is ALWAYS in the way (my other one's cord was off to one side some which is more comfortable to position when using it for back pain). Your choice for cord placement, if using it on your back, is over your head or between your legs, neither are very comfortable. ugh. 2. Cord twists really bad which is probably why my other one stopped working. 3. Pricey but as people usually say about "cheap" items here, "you get what you pay for". This is one of the VERY FEW things I pay more for as it is SO worth it! The benifits outweigh the negatives by far. I am TRYING to hande the cord carefully with my everyday use and trying to think of a solution.

I already own a Thermophore MaxHeat Pad. I Can't say enough about how great the pad that I own is. It was so good, that I reordered another one. To my surprise, when Amazon dropped it off on the front porch, I immediately noticed that it was shipped in a much smaller box that the first one I bought. When I took it out of the box and laid it next to my other one, I was very dissappointed to find they had shortened the width by two inches. The new pad is barely wide enough for a child, let alone an adult. If you are over 100 pounds, you probably won't fit on this pad if you want your whole back heated. I really don't like deceptive advertising, they said that this is the same pad as the old one, except that they were changing the box to include a picture of two people, instead of one person. Somehow in their wonderful decision making to change the advertising on the box, they also decided to take off two inches of width on the pad, but they failed to say that, or I wouldn't have bought it. They did include the dimensions in the advertising saying the pad was 14" wide, unfortunately, I made the assumption that my old pad was the same width as the new. I should have measured my old pad first to be sure of its dimensions, but I didn't do this because I trusted them when they stated in the advertising, that it was the same great pad but just an updated box. Honestly, I felt this was deceptive advertising and because of that, I question the company making this pad values now. I ended up giving it one star because the pad is awesome, but I couldn't give it five stars because of the deceptive advertising, and I liked the older version of this pad with the extra two inches. They are like most companies no-a-days, in cutting the amount of material back and increasing the prices, all for profit, with little regard for the end user. They should have made a corporate decision to come out with a smaller version of the original pad, and let the user decide if they want a larger or smaller pad, but instead they changed it under the auspices that it was the same original pad, in a new box. Bad Business!
