Great addition for all your needs!
***August 22 2021 update Still going strong and its a life saver having this right next to me when Im driving. No more overheating issues because you know why? Im not blocking the vents anymore! There was plastic bags or paper bags before that locked the vents since this was on the floor and now I make sure to clear them to keep the airflow good! Now Im problematic free with this cooler! I just love it so much!!! Handle is still going strong and I open and close them more than 100 times a day!!! *original review* Bought this to use in my semi truck. I have used it in the beginning as a freezer and was great for about a month until the compressor wouldnt bring back down the temps from 34, and it was set at -4. I contacted alpicool and saw the reply the next morning, I followed instructions to reset the unit and it started to work good again. Since then I just used it as a fridge set at 35, and its been over a month without any problems. I am using it inside the truck and it is bigger than the truck fridge so I am able to carry more goods with me. I am running it as a fridge now because the weather is getting warmer and I need my cold water, and it has more than enough space for several gallon bottles inside. Currently have a gallon of water, gallon of milk, and half gallon of orange juice all within my reach when Im driving. Plus, the top has 4 dips where you can put your drink on so it doesnt slide and it works great keeping my cans or even fountain drinks from the store from falling/tipping/sliding. Overall, if you need a fridge/freezer GET ALPICOOL and you wont regret it! I had my eye on this brand for a couple years and I finally pulled the plug in a lightning deal. There are smaller or dual zone units so check them out! My next unit will most likely be the dual zone dual lid unit if this one ever dies!

Excellent fridge solution for a great price
I use the Alpicool fridge now for more than a year on my sailboat here in the Caribbean. I'm quite happy, it holds the temperature very well and the compressor works only half the time, probably 3 to 4 minutes every 10 to 15 minutes, that's a average consumption of 2 amps on 12 Volts, excellent for my solar powered system. I plan to buy a smaller one (20 Lt) to use it as a freezer.

UPDATE - Customer Service came through for me
Ok, I have only had this for a week, but it seems to be performing well. I live in Northern California so I bought it for use when our beloved utility shuts off power to prevent fires. I am testing it by putting it on a 100 Ah battery and setting it at 38 degree in a room that averages 68 degrees. Note, I am not using it in a car/RV. Battery still going strong after 4 days on initial charge so switched to AC. Quiet and the temp fluctuation on Eco-Cool seems reasonable: 35 - 41 degrees. UPDATE: The unit died after 50 weeks. There does not seem to be a warranty. I managed to get one email from their "Customer Support". They told me to fix it myself and refused to give me any instructions or manual. Fortunately, I had anticipated this problem and bought the independent warranty from amazon. Hopefully that will reimburse me. Too bad these 12V fridges seem to be so flaky. It sat in our home for the entire time and was never in a vehicle. Cons: Paperwork does not list a warranty so I bought the amazon 3 year one. No telephone number for support, no listed manufacturer, no service center, etc. Pretty satisfied so far as my wife wanted an extra fridge for her tulip bulbs but I was concerned about space and the electrical cost. My Kill-A Watt shows a 24W drain when the compressor is working, which is pretty seldom. UPDATE: After not hearing from Customer Service for a few days, I posted the above rant. Did hear t=from them, told me I had a 1 year warranty and replaced the unit paying the freight both ways. Thanks and I will buy another from them.

Does what is supposed to do
I'm an over the road trucker and bought the first one so I could bring food to cook in the truck and save money on the road. It worked great for about two years. 12volt mode doesn't drain the batteries much between starts, I could go a few days without running the engine and still get it to fire up. Keeps things nice and cold too, the claims about getting it down to -10 quickly are true. Then it stopped and threw me an E1 code. Tried the unplug for 30 minutes and plug back in thing, didn't work. Ok, things break, I get it, and it can get pretty rough in some parts of the country where the interstates aren't maintained so well. It took a bit of a beating at times. I emailed Alpicool to ask if there was an authorized repair center near my home, or anywhere for that matter, and got no response at all. Otherwise it gets 5 stars. I did buy another one if that tells you anything. I'll try to fix the old one myself and keep it on hand as a spare, or for use in personal vehicles for trips out of state. The only upgrade I'd make if I were them would be to ruggedize the area in and around the compressor a little more. These things are HEAVY if you have to move them around loaded with foodstuff, and to get it up into the cab of a semi truck by yourself you're basically giving it a controlled toss. That, and it's designed for mobile use inside of vehicles. I forgot to secure mine down more than once and had it bounce out and fall out of the place I had it set up in. These things happen in mobile environmentsn . The shell around the working parts always held up, but seem a tad flimsy with some "give", so I always worried components might get damaged inside, and that very well may have been the case. Other than that, and the non existent customer service, great product.

I purchased this to put in my jeep for road trips, it showed up on time and damage free. It is very easy to use gets cold really quick. It is quiet, durable, and has a lot of space inside. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fridge for camping or for your car.

Excellent unit. Just got back from a 2 week trip and it kept our food and drinks cold without issue. Nice and quiet, and doesn’t seem to use a ton of power. It would run off our ecoflow river 2 pro for about 2-3 days before needing charging.

This is a FANTASTIC unit. I'm a long distance driver, so this cooler is used every day of the year. It has worked flawlessly for the last 4 years. It cools down quick and goes cold. I can keep anything frozen that I buy, even in extremely hot weather. Eco mode on this thing works very well and barely touches my 100ah Lifepo4 battery system. After 4 years I have found that using 12v will cool down this cooler much quicker than 110v while traveling. I have this cooler hard wired to my battery systems fuse block, allowing it to get the most efficient energy. Blow out the fans on each side regularly, and don't block them and you will have a great cooler for years to come.
