Saint Augustine's Prayer Book

What a wonderful little prayer book. This will be a most excellent supplement to my BCP readings and in preparation for the liturgy of the Eucharist. Its small enough to fit in a coat pocket and the type is very readable. It contains 2 ribbons and came in a nice little gift box. It is very well made and I look forward to using it for years to come. I am most excited to have this to further strengthen my prayers and devotions. Highly reccomended to any Anglican seeking a most edifying accompaniment to their regular readings from the BCP.

Great gift for anyone new to the church or who wants to deepen their faith. A great explanation of the church calendar, ways to focus yourself, and devotions.

Good quality. Much smaller than anticipated, as I should’ve read the description better. Well made. Not so easy to just read without glasses, because of the small print. Good, sturdy binding. Nice paper making the pages up. Needs to have a larger print. Good information given of prayers, etc.

Most Episcopalians have a copy of the BCP in their homes, but this is a “must have” to the BCP. Wonderful prayers, stations of the cross, how to pray the rosary (if you want) prayers for the sick, dying, meditations for the Eucharist. The description says it comes from”gift boxed” but that is not true. It came in a plastic bag. Great price and it would make a great gift also. A treasure trove of prayer.

It’s beautifully made but mine was missing page 1. Not a huge deal but slightly annoying.

Love it very much helped me alot spiritually

This is a wonderful Anglican resource for those who want a more vibrant life of the spirit. It is not meant to substitute the Book of Common Prayer but supplements it with many additional prayers, devotions and instructions that are appropriate for individuals. When I had to go to the hospital unexpectedly, the prayer for healing on p. 87 meant a good deal to me and was repeated multiple times each day. Most Anglicans and those from some other liturgical traditions are acquainted with the Stations of the Cross. But in this book I found a set of post-Easter celebrations called Stations of the Resurrection. As a monastic I offer the Daily Office but there are litanies and prayers that enrich the basic marking of time. My only problem with the book is with some of the instructions which are printed in a feint red print. My aging eyes cannot read this and I have to get a magnifying glass to help. But I can see the regular black print quite well. The book is just the right size to go in the back pocket of jeans or in a suit coat vest pocket. It is a sturdy book and can take some hard wear just fine. In fact, it should get hard wear and use! It is a treasure and it accompanies me wherever I go.

I wish I had been given a copy of this years ago! So helpful. It has a lovely feel to it, the print is easy to read and it is the perfect size to slip in a handbag.

This is a beautiful prayer book. Even though it was intended for a conservative Anglo-Catholic audience, I do not think any Catholic who picks up the book would be disappointed.

This prayer book has classic leather finish. Very nice look for a classic prayer book.

I am an ordained Anglican minister and this is the best 'unofficial' prayer book that I have. It can fit into your pocket and looks very presentable. I like it because it has a vast range of prayers for virtually every occasion. Many are personal prayers for the reader. I particularly like the pre-liturgy prayers and the before-and-after communion prayers which can be read discreetly in church!. Highly recommended for every Christian.
