My mother is able to sleep straight and get a good breath on this wedge pillow. It is worth investing in such products. Review: I bought the InteVision 12" extra large wedge. I bought this wedge to help me with many of my health problems. I am not a light-weight, weighing 275 pounds. I needed a wedge to reduce my severe edema as well as severe acid reflux, both were making it nearly impossible to both sleep and breath when I was laying down. In addition, my joints slip out constantly and my bed had developed a trough where my body rested that gave my body no support, while the rest of my bed provided too much support in many other areas. This caused me constant pain from both pinched nerves as well as subluxated joints. (At the time I purchased the InteVision pillow it had been just over one year since we had gotten rid of my 25 year our old bed; because of the troughs it had formed. My new, very expensive bed had developed worse troughs over this very short time, and replacing the new bed wasn't in my budget.) I found the InteVision wedge extremely firm; painfully so for my torso. Honestly, that was my fault, as I purchased the 12" wedge against the advise of many other reviewers. Sleeping on a firm 12" wedge feels almost like sitting up in a partly reclined car seat. I hadn't believed the reviews that said this memory foam wedge was going to be this firm. I didn't believe that memory foam could be this dense. The good news is that even at 600 pounds the InteVision wedge is unlikely to deform under your weight. (This wedge was supposed to replace the prior wedge I had bought that was super soft and comfortable. The soft wedge exacerbated the trough in my bed which caused me even more pain.) I have returned to purchase the 7.5 inch InteVision wedge pillow because I know what I will be getting. I will be combining my new InteVision pillow with my first, super soft, wedge pillow that I purchased from a different supplier. I will be placing the InteVision firm wedge pillow underneath the soft pillow (where it will provide great support), and tucking the 2 wedges into a 12" wedge pillow case from InteVision. As for the complaints about the smell of these InteVision wedge pillows, yes the smell is HORRIBLE. I put my first InteVision wedge pillow outside and left it out there for over a month before using it. By then the smell had finally dissipated. The InteVision wedge pillow can be a great asset if you believe the reviews and plan the pillow's usage accordingly.

I first purchased a different brand of wedge which was 24 x 24 x 13. It was too small in every way but height. Worst of all, my arms would flop off to the sides which caused great strain on my clavicle and scapula. It was also only several dollars more than this product. I love the dimensions on this wedge, the extra 3.25" on each side allows me to have my arms supported while sleeping and reading and I do not have the problem of waking up with a sore upper back due to the lack of support provided to my arms. The longer length of 33" also means the incline angle is less steep, even though the effective height is only one inch shorter at 12". This means it runs the full length of my back down to my hips, which allows me to sleep using this wedge without extra pillows to make up for this discrepancy. I suppose it is worth contextualizing my considerations regarding dimensions with the fact that I am a 6' tall physically active male whose weight runs anywhere from 185-205 pounds depending on the season. If you were a 5' tall woman who weighs 100 pounds and only trains cardio, the smaller wedges would probably be completely adequate. It is also worth noting that for me, the small elliptical pillow is absolutely perfect for a headrest when sleeping. In fact I can sleep with this wedge and the small pillow and use no other pillows at all. It gets an A+ for me in that regard, mainly because when I was using the first inferior wedge which I returned, I tried to sleep on it the first night and was greeted with a wicked stiff and mildly painful upper cervical upon awakening. I thought to myself this could be completely alleviated with a small elliptical pillow and, low and behold, it's almost like this brand of wedge seller thought about what they were offering and how it would be used and included it as any reasonable human would see fit. For these reasons I cannot subtract any stars and must give it five, caveat being that I must note the cover on the competitors product was more robust and had a nicer premium feel. Although they advertise the thread count on the included covers with the extra large version which I purchased, the fabric is very thin and they are a bit oversized, intended to shrink down after a few cycles in the dryer after being washed.

Just what I needed! It's big enough that I don't roll off, and it goes down my whole back. Very comfortable. Much better than the shorter ones where my lower back isn't supported.

When I returned home from a COVID19 hospitalization, I could not lay down to sleep. Since I slept in the recliner for 2 weeks before I went to the hospital and then was in a hospital bed for 2 weeks, I really really really wanted to sleep in my own bed. Piling up regular pillows did not work, and I tried a few other options, but they were not comfortable and I was not able to sleep well. I finally got this one and it is AMAZING. It is just the right amount of firm, it is wide enough so that your arms are supported, and it is long so your whole back is supported. If you need to sleep at an angle for any lung issue/illness, I think this would work. I slept like a baby the first night. I did air it out for about 24 hours before using it, since it is memory foam and a slight odor at first. After that, I did not really notice anything. It is about half the width of a queen size bed, so if you share your bed, this should still be okay. The little pillow that comes with it doesn't do much, but I figured it wouldn't. I used my regular contour pillow, and my head didn't roll around. I DID use the little pillow for some extra lumbar some nights, but it would have been fine without as well. The only real issue with it is now that I don't need it every night, I don't know where to store it because it is HUGE. But it's totally worth it.

*edit Changing my rating from one star to 5. The company reached out to me and let me know I must have received a defective wedge and they issued a refund. This was such a relief because Amazon said I could return the wedge to a Kohls for a refund but I would have no way to possibly do that because of the size of it and my disability. This is great customer service. Normally I wouldn't have gone from one star to 5 but the wedge itself seems to be made well and were it the correct size I think it would have been great for my husband's condition. Original Review - My husband has recently been having severe pulmonary problems and his specialist told him he needs to sleep with a wedge that is at least 12" high. There are dozens and dozens of wedges on Amazon but I chose this one because of the perfect dimensions even though it is double or triple the price of others. This wedge is NOT the measurements stated. It is just over 10" high (NOT the 12" advertised) and just over 30" wide (not the 33" advertised}. It has been 5 days since we unpacked it so I know it is not going to expand more. I don't even know how I will return it because there is no way I can get it back in the box. I will be contacting Amazon to see what can be done.
