3M Face Shield
GOOD.

Better than expected
Contrary to several reviews, this shield fit well and seems to have very adequate adjustment capability. It also stays up when lifted. Provides great visibility and protection; it's gratifying to hear the debris from my trimmer ping off the shield instead of my face. The only problems are those you will face with any shield with a decent amount of protection: it is not light, and the shield does reduce the amount of ventilation on your face. These issues are as expected. I recommend this product. The price is excellent, and the shield does the job.

solid face protection
great shield that has saved my face and eyes from flying debris while weed eating. Gives me an extra sense of security while doing multiple chores that could cause flying debris. The rubber padding came off and I had to glue it back in place. But the head band is sizable and I have been able to fit over ear protection on without any issues.

3M Face Shield.
The 3M face shield is packaged separately from the headgear, both of which are made of sturdy material. Take a little care in assembling the face shield to the headgear, and do not force anything into place and end up breaking the plastic parts. Don't toss your face shield onto the ground or a bed of nails and be surprised if it gets all scratched up. Treat it like a pair of expensive Oakley sunglasses if you want the shield to stay pristine and clear. LOL To assemble the American Way, without reading any instructions or looking at diagrams, simply align one of the holes on the edge of the face shield to the blue star shaped stud on the inside of the head gear. Move the shield up and down until it catches and locks onto the stud. Do the same for the other side of the face shield. Now the final part is to get the open slot on the top center of the face shield to lock into the headgear. Notice the groove on the inside edge of the blue forehead piece...the top edge of the shield fits into this groove. So grab the edge of the blue forehead protector with with your left hand, with the outside of the face shield against your left forearm. Now pull your left arm back and place the bottom edge of the face shield against your muscular chest. Pull it gently against your muscular chest...while at the same time, use your right thumb to pull the center blue tab away from the face shield so the open slot could snap into the tab. All in 15-20 seconds or faster if you trying out for the Guinness Book of World Record. Adjust the plastic band on the back of the helmet to fit your head comfortably, the head size is embossed on the gray head band. To move the shield up and down without it popping it off your head, just place one hand over the top head strap and use the other hand to push shield up or pull it down. As stated by another reviewer, when you tilt your head slightly down, the edge of the oversize shield will protect your neck. On me, the edge will touch about 3 inches belong the center of my collar bone. There is a large black perforated rubber band on the forehead to keep the headgear from moving around. The shield is big enough to wear goggles and glasses underneath, which will act as double protection for the eyes. I will be using mine when I grind the sidewalk edges that have lifted up.

No more debris in the face!
I don't know why it took me so long to get this! This is SO much more convenient than dealing with safety glasses, and offers way more protection. I find this most useful when using a dremel with a cutoff wheel, as I was tired of getting hit with debris in the face. But I use this with pretty much any tool--dremel, saw, snips, drill. It's very comfortable and easy to flip up and down. And you have a much better field of vision than goggles/glasses. (Also nice and easy to wear sunglasses underneath when working outside.) It's a tad heavier that wearing safety glasses of course, but you get used to it. Lighter than a welding mask, for example. In fact, sometimes i forget I'm wearing it when i need to scratch my nose.

Your face is worth saving, and "cool" to wear
I got this for protection while I am using my gas-powered Stihl string trimmers, which I use a lot for trimming rough grass, weedy areas, and small brush on my property. These powerful trimmers tend to throw a lot of little bits of stuff in all directions, despite being shielded. Until I got this face shield, I had been using various clear plastic safety glasses or goggles for protecting my eyes, but there were 2 problems with them: - On hot days, they would often fog up from perspiration and obscure my vision. - They only protected my eyes - the most precious part of my face - but did nothing for the rest of my face, which would often be struck by various particles that would sting and/or make my face dirty So I tried one of these, and it was an enormous improvement over glasses or goggles. I could see much more clearly, I got less hot, and it protected my whole face from the impact of high-velocity trimmings. Plus I got to look like David McCallum on NCIS. I made one other related improvement to my protection: I used to wear protective ear muffs, but hated their bulk and heat retention. So now I am using 3M Peltor Tri-Flange Ear Plugs, Green, 3-Pack , which I also use for lots of other stuff. I have purchased a whole bunch of these, most recently in the 21 pack.

Cordialmente BH

Great faceshield! It's got plenty of adjustability and great over the top protection. Unlike cheaper models, this one doesn't fog up while wearing an N95 mask.

I found this works excellent and worth the money, not like the other face shields that are on the market.

As others have stated, this is an AO branded face shield. The shield (lens?) itself and part of the headband are branded as 3M. Overall the shield seems to be a quality product. The biggest issue I have with the product is that it does not fit me perfectly. When I have adjusted it as well as I can, the strap that goes around my head (as opposed to the one that goes on top) is tight on the bottom of the strap, but remains a bit loose on top. I would prefer it to be a bit tapered. I don't know if this would be a problem for many, as some hats also do not fit me well.

Use this when using the hand grinder, or wire wheel or cutting. Save your eyes, and get yourself one of these, its worth the investment for your health. Also use when sanding wood along with a mask, work brilliantly.
