Worked Fine While It Lasted…
Was working fine for a few months. Now Alexa says that the Brunt Blind Engine is not responding. Tried resetting the Brunt… delete and reinstall the app… delete and reinstall the Brunt skill and still doesn’t work. No reply from Brunt. Useless now

Customer Care Letdown
So I bought this blind engine almost 4 months ago now just before Christmas. It is the second of these devices I have bought, as I was quite impressed with the functionality and ease of install of the device. I bought this via Amazon from the official brunt Uk account. Upon receiving my item I quickly commenced the installation to find that as I came to plug it in, I found that I had received a European power adapter which of course would not fit my Uk socket. Understanding that mixups happen. I attempted to contact brunt to arrange an exchange. After attempts to correspond via amazon, their online chat which I found to be unattended, and via any email address I could find relating to brunt. I eventually received a response after the new year, which after a few back and forth emails left me believing that they had it in hand and my replacement power supply would be winging it’s way to me. However 3 weeks passed and not only was I still waiting but the person I had been speaking to, no longer responded to my outreaching for an update. I then began again attempting to contact brunt Uk through any means available. Around a week later I received an email I received a response from my attempts to contact via Amazon. To which I was assured by the brunt representative that it was being looked into and to expect further contact with a resolution shortly. Another month passes and I have just recently attempted to contact brunt again and hopefully I’ll receive a response. 4 months since purchase, a lot of my time wasted and still no further forward with what should have been an easily resolvable issue. This is about as poor as customer service gets. Needless to say brunt would not receive any future purchases from myself or anyone else that I can successfully advise against, based on this experience.

I’m trying to add the motor to the app but says that has a user with this device already... no troubleshooting manual... avoid that!

Will fail over time
Unfortunately this blind engine has a fundamental problem when used with metal cords. The plastic cog mechanism is made of plastic that is too soft and quickly wears over time and eventually becomes so worn that it cannot engage with the cord sufficiently so whilst the motor runs the blind corn does not move. This is remarkably poor design and basically wasn’t tested for any length of time. The cog needs to be made of metal or far more robust plastic. I had six of the blind engines and four have now failed. It seems impossible to get replacement parts and, assuming they are made of the same material, they too would fail within a few months. I’d avoid Brunt products at all costs. And, of course, there’s no customer service.

The device does not work with Alexa, do not believe the advert. I checked, it does not work. Officially.
