Greens Superfood Powder: Greens Powder with Digestive Enzymes & Probiotics, Organic Spirulina, Chlorella, and Beet Root Powder, Chocolate, 30 Servings

My dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer this past summer in 2013. The Cancer was all up and down his spine, and 2 Tumors (stomache and spine area). My dad smoked for more that 43 years and he is 65, the males in his family have not lived to reach 65. My grandfather (his father) passed away at 62 from Cancer and he was a heavy smoker. Anyway, his Doctors could not believe he was still living, they said most people in his condition would have been gone a long time ago. I reflect back about 12 years ago when I went to visit my Dad one time, I hadn't seen him in a few months (I moved away) and I noticed then he lost so much weight and over the years since then he was getting thiner and thiner. My dad was still working at the time where many months he worked 7 days a week. My dad is old-school where he always left for his job and arrived an hour early before starting his shift so he could prepare himself and spend time talking with his friends and he did it for more than 35 years. Nevertheless, I would ask him if he was sick, if he'd seen his Dr. and the answer was always, I'm fine, I'm not sick. Thank goodness, he retired at 62 and living with my brother and his fiance (God Bless both of them!). This past summer, my dad was 92lbs and he's about 5'4 and I had never seen my father soooo thin and weak, I was devastated but not surprised. His skin was already grey, he wasn't so coherent, he was walking very slow, his voice was very low and soft and he was in a lot of pain! I believe in my heart of hearts that he would not have lived to see another 2 weeks, he was fadding fast! I went to my bothers home along with PlantFusion, Green SuperFood, Flora-Flor-Essence, Natural Vitality Organic Life Liquid Vitamins, Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Juice, Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics (Original Formula), ImmPower (to boost his immune and increase his White Blood Count), L-Glutamine Powder (Free Form Amino Acid), Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, and Herb-Pharm's Tumeric Liquid Herbal Extract. We came with GUNS BLAZING! We had my dad on a schedule where we were giving him all of these products twice a day and we did it for 5 days. By the third day, his color came back, he was walking a little faster and by the fourth day you could clearly see life back in his body and hopes that he may have a chance to battle this! His interpreter (needed one for his Dr. apt.) that works with a lot of Cancer Patients said my dad looked well for his condition, she repeatedly acknowleged his color that most patients do not have a nice color like he had. And of course, we took that as a great sign. As bad as it was, he was still smoking on top of that and drinking a little beer. I know..I know.. It was very hard for us to know and see it. Because here we were trying to save our dad and he was so addicted to his addictions that were killing him. On top of that, he asked my brother to let me know that he didn't want to take all the stuff we got for him. Because it was too much for him to take. I was devestated, and had to really pray and talk to God to give me understanding and he did. I did what I could to contribute on the homeopathic level but it was too much for him. He has done 4 treatments of Radiation, 5 treatments of Chemo, he is in less to zero pain most of the time now. My bother and his fiance give him protein shakes and his appetite is better. He now weighs 103lbs., stopped smoking two months ago, he's on Vapor Cigarrettes (just water, NO NICOTINE) and in the BEST SPIRITS EVER! When he laughs, he laughs, like he is enjoying every moment of his life. :) We'll find out from his Doctor what his status is after his last treatment of Chemo. I believe if we'd continued to give him all of the products we got for him including the Green Superfood inconjunction with his treatments (to stop his pain) we would have seen a faster recovery. My husband and I drink the Green Superfood as part of our diet every day or at least 5 days a week. I just wish all of the products didn't cost so much especially for Cancer Patients. Wow. Bought this based on the overwhelming majority of excellent seemingly unpaid reviews (thanks fellow shoppers!) and must concur with the majority. I have now worked my way through 2-3 of the full size jars, which we put on Subscribe & Save, after initially trying the smaller jar. So...I don't work out regularly, partly because it just ain't my bag and partly because I have little free time...and partly because I'm tired ALL THE TIME and it's a vicious circle. You're lethargic so you don't work out so your metabolism slows so you stay lethargic so you don't work out so your metabolism....on and on. Went to a GP and then to an endocrinologist who suspected hypothyroidism because I'm female/tired/losing hair but too young to be losing hair/cold all the time/retaining weight even on ultra-low calorie intake/dry skin, yada yada yada. But the thyroid test comes back negative whilst meanwhile I want to lay down and die now and then. They gave me uppers, but though it makes me 'normal' ( not speedy, just how I used to be when I was normal) I don't want to be chained to Big Pharma if I don't hafta be. So I bought this. I bought chocolate flavor despite not caring for chocolate because it seemed to be one of the best-reviewed in terms of mixability and flavor...not tasting like a bag of lawn clippings. It is a VERY fine powder that smells of cocoa powder with a hint of...lawn clippings. I bought a carton of chocolate almond milk to mix it into, since chocolate-on-chocolate seemed strategically sound. Do yourself a favor and buy one of those shaker cups with the flip top and the wire mixing ball inside. Stirring with a spoon is tiresome and lengthy and results in grittiness unless you want to devote a half hour to the task, which you don't. Do yourself another favor and put the liquid in FIRST. And only THEN add the powder. If you put the powder in first, you will never get it all off the bottom, where it will stay, hard and defiant and a waste of dollars. I sipped gingerly, expecting grass flavor. But although you will not mistake it for Nestle Quik, it is not bad tasting in chocolate milk. I'm telling you. If I can drink it you can. I'm the world champion of dubious eaters. Try it. It grows on you, too. At first sip I thought...well, I can choke this down...I guess. Now I care not, though I do keep it in the blender cup so I can reshake as desired ( I'm picky about texture too and eventually it does settle out). Use more liquid than recommended if you want to hide the taste/texture even more (I do). So as I sat on the couch staring at the wall reflecting on what might have brought me to this sad state of drinking chocolate grass out of a gym rat bottle, I actually noticed, within twenty minutes of the first sip....HEY. I feel awake. Not high, or amped up like I just took phentermine or a load of caffeine, just...alert. Is that the same wall I was staring at? Why was I tired? Is there time before I have to leave the house to put in some laundry and wipe down this leather couch that the dogs keep befouling with their muddy feet? Where ARE the dogs anyway? They could use a wash too, since the couch is about to be clean. I felt normal. I have no testimonial about how much weight I've lost or how glorious my skin looks or how much weight I can bench now. I'm sure if you were normal to begin with you might achieve some of that. I was just looking to not feel like a zombie, a potted plant, and that I definitely got. When I do NOT take it I DO feel a difference. I then recommended it to my husband, who does work out regularly, and firmly in the no-hippie-lawn-clippings-for-me category. He would not add even a pinch to his workout shake. I made him sip mine one morning on the promise it did not taste like dirt or grass. He said it wasn't bad. A short while later he confessed he had subsequently added a SMALL scoop to his workout drink and d@&$ if he didn't feel more alert and had more stamina that morning. Since then, he uses more than I do. For alertness and energy with no crash and no jitteriness, this is your daddy right here. Is it unfortunate that it's made out of vile green things that you have to hide to keep from gagging? Yeah, maybe. But you CAN hide it, so pick up the small size and see for yourself. It's very competitively priced here, btw. Our local grocer wants almost as much for the smaller jar.
