While the size of this drop is not conducive to a small mouth, in my opinion this flavor is the best repair of almost any type of cough or throat soreness due to allergies, smoky weather, smog, or any breathing problem from air quality that wakes you up in the middle of the night or troubles you at work or on a plane. I also used it for colds when I had them and that is the only time I wanted lemon added to it (without the usual menthol that accompanies the usual lemon cough drops). Because of the original flavor's huge size, it will last at least 6 hours through natural "melting." This is not a menthol or strong tasting drop. It's very soothing and relaxing without pain. It tastes good, but not like modern candy. It's an old fashioned candy flavor., which is fine with me. It's effective.

I used to use Hall's methalyptus cough drops but they were burning my mouth and I wanted to get away from the artificial ingredients so I've been hooked on Ricola for several years now. My throat gets very dry and if I start coughing I can't stop unless I pop in a Ricola!

I use these at the first sign of a sore throat or congestion. It's not just the menthol; it's the herbs. Clears up sore throat and in my opinion heads off further infection. Also they taste great and can be left in the cheek to slowly coat the throat.
