Works great! needed it for a particular wired set up on a Mac and it was exactly the thing I needed.

In recent years, I've used many Mac keyboards -- Apple, Logitech solar-powered, Logitech rechargeable, and several wired keyboards with a keypad. All of them sooner or later left me frustrated. Logitech's batteries wear down in a matter of months. The solar keyboard is no longer really available (except on the secondary market). And I just got tired of the "your keyboard has died, change the batteries again" routine. Unfortunately I could never really find a suitable wired replacement, until I tried this keyboard. While it's not perfect, and it felt a little "clacky" when I first started using it, it is nevertheless the best solution if you don't want a full-sized keyboard with keypad crowding your desktop. Pros: * Wired (for me this is a plus) - no more batteries! * Same approximate size, shape, and styling of Apple's official keyboard * Performs reasonably as expected. * No more wrestling with finicky wireless connections or batteries * Price still seems high for machine-molded plastic and some minor electronics, but it's cheaper than competitors. Cons: * Feels a little cheap when you type at first... a little "clickety-clackety" * Keys and typing action are not as nice as Macally's larger keyboards * There is a bright, unnecessary power light at the top of the keyboard. It's distracting, so I taped over it. * Plastic feels sturdy, but cheap Macally also makes a great, low-priced silent wired mouse that is also excellent. Overall I give this keyboard a positive rating because it's the best solution I've found to solve the "stop using batteries" problem. A better keyboard could still be made, but since Apple discontinued their wired products we are left to search for third party providers. All things considered Macally did a credible job of providing a replacement.

OK, so I bought this for a project I'm doing where I'm using an older 17" Macbook Pro's aluminum chassis to house a new laptop's motherboard and screen. Basically the newer laptop's hardware is far superior, but these gaming laptops so often come with cheap plastic chassis that break apart (especially at the hinge mounts). The difficult part of doing this is that the keyboards for a laptop are not universal in how they interface with the motherboard, so you either have to make an adapter (extremely difficult and time consuming) or you do what I thought I'd try... find a USB keyboard that fits exactly into the cutouts for the keyboard in the Macbook chassis. From the pictures, it looked like this keyboard was identical to the Macbooks, as it was styled just like it and the scale looked correct. After I got it, I tore it apart to pull out the functional parts and test the fit, and I was very pleased that only 2 keys needed some slight trimming to fit in. It's all mounted up in it's new chassis now, and once the motherboard is in, all I have to do is run the USB wires over to one of the USB ports on the new motherboad, and either solder the wires directly to the pad where the USB port connects, or fabricate some kind of connector setup, it'll depend on how much clearance there is by that port. So, this keyboard is working out perfectly for me. Now, just as a keyboard, it's a pretty good setup, it's all plastic, but seems fairly well-built. it's plug-and-play for both Mac and Windows (I think Linux too, I'll have to try it out on the laptop I'm using right now since it runs Linux), so it's super easy to use, and if you're comfortable with the Apple key layout, then this is your keyboard, it feels perfect if you are used to using a mac keyboard.

I've been using this for about a year now and I still love it. It connects easily to my Macbook Air (with an adapter) and there's something easy about typing on it that I really like. Lightweight and compact which makes it easily portable. Allows me to put my laptop up on a stand to raise it to an appropriate level for virtual meetings so people arent looking up my nose and with this keyboard still sitting on my desk, I can still type on it during my meetings. It does have a tapping sound to the keys, which not everyone likes, but I don't mind it at all. Good value for the price. Highly recommend.

I bought this Macally USB keyboard so I could elevate my MacBook laptop on a stand and sit up straight to work. Oh, wow, I love this keyboard! WHAT I LIKE: -- It's nice and "clicky," so when I touch-type I can tell what I have typed. -- The keys are "scissor" mount keys, which is my favorite feel on a keyboard. -- It is exactly the same size as my MacBook keyboard, with the same size keys. -- It is USB powered, which I like. Even though it uses up one of my USB ports, the keyboard response is much better and more predictable than with a bluetooth connection. -- The "space gray" color is attractive, and matches my MacBook well. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: -- The DEL + Fn key doesn't work the same as on my MacBook. I like to DELETE forward sometimes, and this key combo doesn't do it, it only DELETEs backward. I haven't found a key combination on the Macally that does DELETE forward yet. -- The keys are not backlit. I know the manufacturer didn't say the keys were backlit so it's not actually a fault, but still, backlit keys are SO helpful in a dark room or cubicle.

I have used the Macally Compact Wired Keyboard with my Mac Mini M1 for just about 2 years now. It has been exceptionally reliable with no key failures. As an entertainment podcaster I have written thousands of pages of scripts for my show on this keyboard and the keys don't feel any different than the day I started using it. Yes, the Keyboard is of all plastic construction. And yes, if you pick the unit up in both hands it is quite flexible. But that's not a realistic use case. So don't let that stop you from getting this unit. I got it when it was a regular stock item for about $30 Canadian. But for a basic, budget keyboard, it has punched way above it's weight. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again at a similar price point.

Very happy with this narrow keyboard as I do not need the keypad of larger keyboards. Also it takes up less room on my desk. The only problem for me (85 and poor eyesight) is the tiny size of the letters and symbols. So I bought self-adhehesive labels but most of them on the market are useless as produced by printers any old how. Finally I decided to use only upper case letters and memorise what is behind. This works but prepare your own keyboard chart to memorise the 50 or 60 main keyboard shortcuts.

The control key is placed not in the last key button and this is causing me a big time issue.
