AS Review: Worth every penny - My husband races his sailboat every week in Florida with a crew of 5-7 volunteers. He would never go near his boat without this knife which he keeps chained to his belt while onboard. When he found out that his cousin in Brooklyn was crewing in sailboat races, he bought this knife for him as a Christmas gift. He told him that it may cost more than other knives, but it is worth every penny. He has never found a better knife at his club or anywhere else. Review: Fun and handy knife - - Very sharp. Totally rust proof. Just the right size to carry in your pocket. Can be opened and closed one handed. Great useful marlinspike. Great for boating but just down right fun and handy to carry daily.

worry free!
The ability to cut rope all day and never rust, be nonmetalic, and very tight means a lot. Will not disappoint.

Dependable knife
We bought this as a gift for our son who is the USCG. He is around salt water daily , so it important to have a dependable knife that won’t rust.

Slicker than snot
Likes: This knife cuts through cordage like butter. The marlin spike seems to be sturdy and designed well. And the handle material is on par with the spyderco “lightweight” knives (truth be told, I am a fan of spyderco knives) and it is standing up to the mid Atlantic Salt without a spot of rust (so far) Before I get into the dislikes, I should preface by saying this is only my second “boat-knife”. I have many mid-range priced EDC knives, all sub $500. I have become a little picky over the years about things like blade centering, Blade action, and fit/finish, but those rules seem to be a little irrelevant when evaluating something this utilitarian. Nothing about this knife is poor quality, but I took away .5 star for the blade being hard-up off center out of the box. I also took .5star for a rough edge on one side of the thumb “circle” which seems like a symptom of the manufacturing process. I haven’t tried to adjust the blade centering yet, and this is my first week offshore with it. So I will amend this review after this deployment if the rust situation evolves.

Could this be a perfect knife?
Wow, is this an incredible product. I bought mine directly from the manufacturer about 5 years ago and with zero maintenance, it is sharp as ever and not a molecule of rust that I can see. This is hand crafted by a gent in New Mexico I believe. Clearly, he is a perfectionist and this product, while expensive, is worth it. Don't even think about a cheap Chinese lookalike!
