Buddhism and the Twelve Steps: A Recovery Workbook for Individuals and Groups (Buddhism & the Twelve Steps)

Not really a "workbook"
I bought this because I looked his book "One Breath, Twelve Steps". I thought this might help me "work" the steps in a more concrete way. It really is just meditations. Not exactly what I was wanting. It's ok, but his other books are better.

Very helpful
Like many others ,I have been changed by the 12 Steps. I do not relate to a Judeo- Christian concept of a higher power. Nor am I a Buddhist. Mr. Griffins 's exploration of spiritual awakening using the 12 Steps is very insightful and useful. I am a recovered alcoholic. I meditate regularly as well as live the Steps and this book is a terrific support for someone who doesn't relate to a HP with a religious label and set of doctrines. Thank you.

Refreshing approach to the 12 steps. Will change your life.
I love love love Kevin Griffin's books. This is a must for people looking for a new approach to the 12 steps. His guide to the 12 steps is so palatable for people who are turned off by the anthropomorphized "God" derived from Judeo-Christian traditions that is so prominent in traditional 12 step programs. Let Kevin show you tools for reimagining the 12 steps. His books will change your life.

Beautifully written
If you're in recovery but can't stand all the Christian oriented God talk then this book might work for you. Kevin Griffin did not re-write the big book he simply ascribed Buddhist philosophy and meditation exercises to the 12 steps. All of my sponsees have or are reading this book.

Wonderful tool for recovery
I had the pleasure of attending a workshop in 2012 that Kevin gave incorporating Buddhist philosophy with 12-step recovery techniques. His previous books helped with my own personal recovery and I was excited to experience more of his insight. The information in this book has been culled by the workshops he has given and I was excited to have a permanent reference of the material. As a mental health professional, I am also using these techniques with some of my clients who are struggling with recovery. The book is an excellent resource for anybody who is doing any mindfulness work. Highly recommended!

Great book and insightful.
Recently purchased as an alternative to the traditional 12 steps, which I find don't align to my personal beliefs particularly in the big book. The exercises are insightful and the interpretations more palatable. I do believe in this method as a guide for gaining control due to the community and being with others with similar struggles. Just wish there were more groups following other texts
