Great Working Tools Ceiling Mount Bike Hoist Set of 2 Bike Hangers Pulley System

I was able to connect these to studs in the way that I placed them in my garage. Fairly simple to install. I have very high ceilings, so it worked well. Love having these bikes that are rarely used out-of-the-way. Very easy to pull them up. Might want to wear gloves letting them down as the rope can burn your fingers if you let it down too fast. Several years ago I tried ones that hooked on the wall and they did not work as well. Would highly recommend these for the $.

This works well and is easy to use once installed. We have 6 full size bikes that were taking up half our garage space, and now they hang nicely above our heads and out of the way. The pulley system is easy to use, even for our 11-year-old daughter. She can get her bike down and put it back up whenever she wants to use it. It's the best solution we've come across ever! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Directions were very clear, and this is a space saving Godsend! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I am concerned, but hoping, the rope holds. I'm sure the engineers worked it out and I hope they're right. Just seems a little thin. We'll see!

Our garage has 10 foot ceiling. Perfect for hanging bikes near the outer walls. The system has a spring loaded locking mechanism that keeps the bikes from falling. Simular to window shades. Since it's all pulleys, you will have way more cord hanging down. I wrapped a bit around the wall stays in a figure 8, then let the rest hang down. You must lag bolt these to the ceiling joists.

Great item to add to your garage but not so easy to install. My garage has a 20 foot ceiling and I have install some type of board on that ceiling in order to install these bicycles lifts on the ceiling. Once installed the bikes go up and down very easy, so easy that even my grandkids can do this without a problem and nobody getting hurt. I would recommend it for anybody who needs more space in the basement garage or somewhere else.

As advertised! Gave it four stars for installation because it would have been easier if I had three hands or a another person. Note: This is not a knock on the product, just be aware that it can be a little tricky working from the top of a step ladder. 2nd Note: It clearly states that these are made for high ceilings. I have a 10ft ceiling in my garage and the bike tires are just a few inches above my head. (about 6 1/2 feet) The Pulley system takes a minute to understand but works effectively. Sturdiness got 4 stars because I Both seem to be sturdy but I have only had the hangers for two months. It's great to have both bikes in my garage and out of the way.

In a typical two car garage, like mine, you really don't have room for much more than your cars. Our garage was pretty well packed, even BEFORE we got our new mountain bikes. With them on the floor, we were constantly having to move them, just to get to other things like the lawn mower, etc. This two pack of Great Working Tools bike hoists solved the problem. Note: if you're not accustomed to doing this kind of installation, you might want to hire a handy man. But, this is in my 'wheel house'. The trick is to make sure you attach the hangers in ceiling joists. If the joists are not in a workable location, fasten some 1X6 cross members to the ceiling, between the joists. Then, mount the hangers to those members. Using the lift is simple. place the hooks under the seat and handle bars, hoist it up and tie it off to the included cleat. The whole set up is very well designed and made, with quality materials. Good purchase. Five stars.

Overall, these pully systems work great. My only problem with them is the mounting hardware they come with. The screws are made with low grade metal and are prone to stripping, or even bending and breaking. It should also be noted that screws with drywall anchors are not adequate to hang a bike from the ceiling. If you buy this product, plan to also buy a 1x4" board about 5' long to mount the pullies on. Then secure the board to the ceiling rafters with lag screws. You will also need to buy your own screws, and lag screws.
