Transformers Revoltech - 047 Hot Rodimus

Yup, Revoltech has a few of those. I know, I scoff at the idea as well, but with the articulation the figures have, as well as the details, hand changes, and weapons, they are fantastic looking. Rodimus does not hang out on display with my Transformers, instead going for the Anime figures. He is a great figure. Don't be surprised by how small he is. I am always amazed when I get a new Revoltech figure. They are a lot smaller than Transformers, but so packed with detail.

wish this product was bigger. It only stands less than 6 inches. great product though, the articulation of the arms, feet, etc, is crazy good.

Well it's Hod Rod!!!! It is the Hot Rod we all remeber from the movie (the 1987 movie) and cartoon. I have not opened mine as of yet. When I got mine I was just about to rip it open when, I stopped and decided not to open it. He looks good in the box. I got them just because they look like the cartoon.

I love having all the Revoltech Transformers figures and not having to pay an arm & a leg for each of them from Amazon! They are great figures & fun to put in all kinds of poses; especially for battle scenes to just pass the time when I'm bored. I know it sounds childish but to be in tune with my inner child for just a bit is fun, relaxing & gets the creative side of my brain going! I loved Transformers when I was a kid & i'm still a fan of the movies & animated series of the 80's & these figures have that same nostalgic feel! And as figures go, these ARE ALL AWESOME!!!

Don't let the photos fool you, this toy is nicely made but it is tiny. The figure is less than 4 inches tall. I bought it for my son for Christmas, so it is not out of the package yet, but had I known it was so small I would not have paid over $30 for it. It has a high quality appearance but I expected it to be twice as big.

Hot Rod was always my favorite Autobot and admittedly the old toy didn't really capture the character well from back in the animated days. The Revoltech Hot Rod(imus) on the other hand? Wow. It's him. First off, this is a Revoltech, so it is NOT A TRANSFORMING TOY. But believe me, that's not a bad thing. Hot Rod is so flexible that you can get him into nearly any pose a proper cartoon robot can assume. The paint applications are beautiful and there's even a hint of sparkle to the paint in places. As expected the Revolver joint system holds up well to constant posing and reposing. Now for the problems. The hands are swappable giving you fist variants ranging from thumbs-up to guns. The variation is nice, but the problem is the point of attachment. Most Revoltechs feature interchangeable hands that are solid pieces; Hot Rod's feature glued in posts that are then inserted into the arm at the wrist. The attachment point is so tight that it can (and has) ripped the post free from the hand leaving a stump. It's fixable, but also kind of irritating. Revoltechs are usually better thought out in terms of design, so this was sort of a shocker. Secondly, because he's a Revoltech, he's not very big. I don't have a lot of excess space so I don't mind, but at 4 inches tall I know some people might be a little put off. I will say that despite the problems, I am totally happy with this toy and (to me) he was absolutely worth the money!

I expected so much more from Revoltech, but alas, here we have someone else trying to make a buck off the name and revamped hype of Transformers. The figure looks awesome in the pictures, but it's not so inspiring once it arrives in it's teeny package. It was much smaller than I imagined: even after reading the dimensions. Despite that, I tried to get hype about it once I opened the package to see all the neat little hand pieces and extra head. However, the hands were so hard to come off! One of them broke within 5 mins of opening. I couldn't even get the little nub out to switch hands! The other head, I couldn't get it on after taking the original off. I'm pretty fit, and I gave it dang near everything to push it on. If it takes all that to change out the pieces, it's not worth it. Besides that, it has the feel of having a limited amount of poses before turning into a plastic rag doll. Which makes no sense coming with so many pieces that would tempt you to refit them on the figure. I mean, isn't that the point of this Revoltech figure? I won't try this again from this line for Transformers. Good idea though. SOMEONE GET IT RIGHT!!!!

初代ムービーを見て以来のホットロディマスファンである為、今回の商品化は嬉しく 早い段階から予約して到着を待っていました。 発売前になって商品写真が公開され、一抹の不安は抱いていましたが、残念ながら 届いた商品を手にして、それはガッカリへと変わりました。 トランスフォーマーは長い歴史があり、世代や接した環境によってファン層も大きく変わるので 全てのファンを満足させる商品を作る事は不可能でしょう。 今回の原型を担当する山口氏は個性的な造型が売りですから、独特な形状に仕上がるのも 無理は無いとも言えます。 とりあえずムービーファンや玩具のファンである方は、まず写真をよく見て 自分の好みに合うかを見極めてから購入する事をお勧めします。
