RePlay (BL manga) Review: Love it - Wholesome a.f and with a nice helping of miscommunication-flavored angst that is perfectly ratioed👌🏾 Spicy endings × 2 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Yuta & Ritsu are an adorable couple and Coach & Shima need their own branch off. Money well spent<3 <3 <3 Review: One of my all-time favorites, a real hidden gem! - Maybe it has something to do with being a bit of a baseball nerd in one of my other lives, but I really loved this particular manga. Even aside from the baseball content, as far as yaoi/shounen-ai one-shots go, this one hits all the marks and is actually pretty perfect. It’s a pretty basic and common enough premise: best friends Ritsu and Yuuta form a very effective battery (catcher and pitcher, lol) for their high school baseball team, and they will be graduating soon and moving on to college. Since their relationship has been entirely based in baseball thus far, and baseball is ending for them, they have to decide whether they will go their separate ways or keep that relationship going as something more and greater than just baseball teammates. Again, that’s nothing too special or original for a premise. And the plot doesn’t really go in any crazy, surprising, or unexpected directions. The strength of this story, for me, lay in a few other factors. I felt that the two main characters were especially well developed for a one-shot, and they immediately felt real and vivid and fully realized in ways that main characters in some yaoi manga series never even reach. I also felt like those two main characters had actual, real chemistry that felt natural and unforced - which is often hard to pull off in a manga. I have to give major compliments to the mangaka on the overall style and consistent quality of the art, too. Really beautiful stuff - soft, graceful lines and young men who are pretty and attractive and handsome without being effeminate or seeming unnatural or abnormal. And she switches from baseball action scenes, to romantic shoujo moments, to adorable and cute comedic moments - a surprising amount of range for a “baseball yaoi”. I should add that this manga inhabits a weird space in between the more “soft” genre of shounen-ai and a more typical yaoi with explicit sex scenes scattered throughout. There are only two very brief explicit scenes, and one of them is just a little 6-page bonus chapter. 98% of this manga reads like shounen-ai, albeit very good shounen-ai. But those two explicit scenes are still there. Overall this gets a strong 5/5 for me. This was one of the rare mangas that I kept going back to, and probably re-read half dozen times or so. Can’t recommend it highly enough if this seems like something you might be interested in.

An Instant Favorite BL - Good Characters, Chemistry, Growing Up
I came for the men in baseball uniforms (lol), but stayed for the really well done characters and story, especially for a one-shot. This quickly became one of my faves, and I have re-read it several times. I really enjoy the "growing up and life is changing" dynamic, and this is so well done. The relationship and chemistry of the characters feels so natural, and it's a delight to watch them discover what their relationship is now that they don't have baseball holding them together. 5/5 wonderful and strongly recommend!

Beautiful art, attractive characters
When I opened the box the manga was smudged with a black substance. I wiped it off and as you can see it’s perfectly fine now. The story itself was a bit boring, but a third of the ending saved it (as well as the spicy scenes). I think the characters lacked something but I can’t put my finger on it. All in all I did enjoy it and don’t regret purchasing:)

sweet story flavored with "growing apart" angst
As both a BL fan and a sports anime fan, I was eagerly anticipating this release. The actual sports content is minimal, since the characters have graduated from club activities, but the story explores the relationship between the pitcher and catcher and how they are struggling to define their relationship now that they are no longer playing together. As players, they were almost like a singular unit (the battery) and there's frequent jokes about them basically being married. Outside of baseball though with separate paths opening up for each of them, what are they? The story is pretty simple (and you've likely seen it before if you read a lot of sports anime fanfic) but it is nicely done. I liked the character's personalities well enough and they are distinct from each other, though neither is particularly memorable. In short, it's nothing extraordinary, but if you like sweet stories flavored with a bit of "growing apart" angst, I think you'll enjoy this.

Relatable sweet read !
A great BL that has two characters that care deeply about one another and want to grow alongside eachother . I didn’t think I would be into it since I’m not into sports, so those of you thinking the same thing , not to worry ! It’s definitely worth the read. I enjoyed it very much. Glad I read it :)

Eine schöne Geschichte über zwei junge Männer die sich einfach nicht von einander trennen können und außerhalb vom Baseball- Spielfeld miteinander glücklich werden. Habe ich sehr gern gelesen und würde es jederzeit wieder kaufen :)

Love the school background and the childhood friends concept. They are sooo cute together awee and it was obvious Ritsu was jealous lol but he is pretty smooth and Yuta finally realizing his feelings and being clingy and bold is surprising haha. They are cute together and to see them bond over baseball and attending college together aweee they are supportive of one another which is great as well. Pluss the coach and Shima and esp Ritsu woww I love the way they are drawn super handsomeee also Ritsu’s eyes are so beautiful plus the way they look at each other makes you swoon. It would have been great to see more of them but overall it was a great story. They are cute and sweet together.
