General Tools 450-6 Flat Leg Divider, 6-Inches, Steel

After measuring my neighbor's head with these, we have determined that his family tree has not forked. Other than that, these have been used to keep my lathe work on target. I have several GENERAL TOOLS calipers and every one of these works well, resists rust, and does what it is supposed to do.

Take a look around the internet to see what a divider like this would cost from another maker... like over $50.00 on some sites... I'm sure they are machined better, shiny, and have a premium logo to let everyone know you are a professional making money as a woodworker or just rich. This is well worth the money. It is accurate and the poor wood workers choice... that's me.

Good product. Sharp. The overall length is 8 inches but the blades are 6 inches. They do what supposed to do. I use them every day. Easy to use.

I am always trying to feel the back of a piece of metal or something and try to drill a hole there by estimating where on the other side. This eliminates the guess work and adds a little precision. Works great for marking location on a blind side like that. Seems accurate but, I'm not using it for measurements.

I wasn't expecting much for the low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are sturdy, well built, and accurate. I used to be a professional, but now I'm a hobbyist woodworker, so I lean towards cheaper tools now if I can get away with it. If you're a pro, go with something like the Starrett's as they would hold up for years of daily use. If you're a hobbyist, these will do fine for you and probably last a lifetime if treated properly.
