Love the Skechers!!!
For many years I faithfully wore the Nike Air Walk and then, low and behold, they stopped making them! They were one of very few "wide" shoes that Nike made -- plus they were all leather, very light, provided great support and were super comfortable. So, once they were discontinued, I was on the search for a replacement.... I didn't think of Skechers much as a "serious" brand, mostly because I didn't know much about them, but it turns out they do sell some wide fitment shoes, and these, for me, are an absolute great fit! I tried a pair, a few years back, and have faithfully replaced them every time, having once again found a pair of shoes I really love. They are very similar to the Air Walks, in comfort and durability, although, sadly, they don't last as long as the Nike's did. Then again, they are about half the price! So, I don't feel too bad having to replace these more often. I'd say a pair lasts six to eight months, where the Nike's used to last more than a year, but, as I say, these are a lot more affordable to replace, so I guess it kind of works out, cost wise. For me, the most important thing is having a pair of shoes that are comfortable, versatile and look good enough to wear to work with good Levi's and a sport shirt, yet can also be used for walks or even light hikes. Since they are all white I have the same problem I had with the white Air Walks, which is that they tend to get dirty kind of quickly, but, like the Air Walks, they also clean up beautifully with some shoe cleaner and a bit of Sneaker whitener, so they tend to look great until they simply wear out -- in my case it is usually the side that eventually blows out -- which was the same on the Air Walks, but just didn't happen as quickly. Even so, six to eight months of life is pretty good to get out of them, considering I wear these pretty often throughout the average week. So, I'm a fan now, and in fact will be getting a second pair of these to have around, since they also come in blue and white, and that way I don't have to clean these up as often, and that's actually an improvement over the Air Walks, since they only came in the white or solid black. With these, I can now have an all white pair, and now can also have a more "casual" sneaker for other looks or outfits or uses, and, since two pairs is not much more than one pair of what the Air Walks use to cost, I'm actually a bit ahead of the game. I'm very happy with these, and I'd certainly recommend them highly!

My Sketchers sneakers.
I seldom find sneakers that fit well and are comfortable. I ran across Sketchers in Sam’s Club but they didn’t have my size. So I went online and found these Sketchers in my size and the color scheme I liked. When they arrived, they fit perfectly, were very comfortable and looked good. What more could you ask for in a pair of sneakers?

“Dad Mode: Activated (Now With Extra Arch Support)”
I bought these Skechers Energy Afterburn sneakers because I needed something comfortable for daily wear, and let me tell you — these things are like strapping two sensible mattresses to your feet. First off, comfort? Outstanding. I put them on and immediately felt like I could mow the lawn, run errands, and possibly outrun a mildly aggressive goose. The memory foam insole hugs your foot like it pays rent there. No break-in period either — just straight out of the box and into action. They’re also sturdy. These aren’t those flimsy “look good for two weeks then fall apart during a brisk walk to the mailbox” kind of shoes. These are “I will support your life choices” shoes. Now for the reason they get 4 stars instead of 5: they are not winning any fashion awards. These sneakers have strong “dad at a weekend barbecue” energy. If New Balance and a lawn tractor had a baby, this would be it. But honestly? That’s part of the charm. Bottom line: If you want comfort, durability, and a shoe that says “I value arch support over societal approval,” these are your sneakers. Would I buy them again? Absolutely. Would I wear them to a wedding? Only if I’m related to the bride.

Width
Normally wear a size 8 1/2 women's found out I have been wearing wrong size shoe for years should be wearing size 9 wide or extra wide ..it seems like wide womens isn't that wide so I am looking for shoes that are extra wide in womens..has not been a easy search .. .. ..I bought these men sketchers in size 7 ..have plenty of room not tight at all and room in toe box as well These shoes have a good sturdy sole but I noticed that the manmade material is tearing on one side of shoe....it says shoe upper is both leather and manmade I can't tell the difference . Wheres the leather ?. I.wish they made this shoe in a sturdy mesh ..i.just ordered the mens slip on tennis shoe in several sizes to see which one fits the best..all all i can say is being a female having to buy mens shoes to get the width sketchers not too bad..except they need to do better on the man made material they use .again i.bought this pair of shoes in december 2025 and I noticed on one side of shoe the material is ripping ...I have had walmart shoes last longer with no rips..sketchers better do better..the sole on this shoe is way better than the walmart shoe I used to buy..heck i should see if Walmart has the mens version of the womens version i used to buy..lol..the sketchers sole I have to say is much better than the walmart version..all I have to say is STEP IT UP SKETCHERS on quality my shoes should not be ripping already ..with that said I give this shoe 5 on width and sole ..2.5 on material ..
