Great mount, proper positioning & using the included charger are key
Works well with iPhone X and charges the battery even when using the GPS and streaming via Bluetooth. As others have noted, proper adjustment is key so that the coil on the mount line up with the coil on the phone. The coil on the mount is centered around the little squarish button that triggers the clamping, and as best I can tell the coil on the iPhone X is dead center on the back of the phone. Just adjust the foot so that the center of the phone is aligned with the button on the mount but make sure you make the adjustment with your case on since some cases have a fairly thick edge that could make a difference. Also, use the charger that iOttie provides since it produces more power than a 3rd party charger. I compared the power output of the iOttie charger with a Scosche charger (that's supposedly capable of producing 2.4A/12W), and the mount drew ~6.3W with the iOttie charger vs ~5W on the Scosche. I really like how adjustable the mount is; I was easily able to get a perfect position when mounting to the windshield and after a couple of weeks of use it shows no sign of loosening. Day-to-day use is very convenient, just plop it in and it clamps down and immediately starts charging. Releasing the clamps quickly became second nature as well, and doesn't take any more time than with my previous mount when I had to unplug the Lightning cable before removing. I do notice that the phone tends to get fairly warm after being in the mount for a while, but my understanding is this is inherent with all Qi chargers and is not specific to iOttie.

Still going strong after five years
I had this car out for over five years and it did a great job. It is still working just fine, but I decided to upgrade.I have had several products from this company and they have all been very good. I would continue to buy products from them.

Surprisingly good build quality and easy one hand operation.
I've had this for four days so far, but I've been on the road a lot, and I am very happy so far. I actually bought two versions: one with the suction cup mount for my car, and one with the CD slot/vent clamp for my work truck. I've gotta say, they work well. The build quality is actually very good. Wireless works as expected (10 watt charge rate - see below). The one handed feature is VERY nice. My old mount required me to use two hands. This one you can place and remove the phone with one hand and it's quite securely locked in. In my photo, you can see a button in the center of the mount. When you put the phone in the mount, it presses against that button, and that triggers a spring mechanism that clamps the phone. To release the phone, you squeeze the buttons sticking out on either side, which also re-arms the spring mechanism. Very quick and simple to use. The suction cup, which is usually flimsy on these things, feels very thick and robust. How well it holds up in hot Florida summers will take time to tell, but I bought another, non-wireless version of this mount, as a spare for the RV and also to steal the suction cup arm off it if needed. If you notice in my photo below, I have the mount resting on the dash. People always complain about the suction cup giving out. Well if the phone is unsupported, and it just bounces around at every bump in the road, that arm is going to act like a lever and pry it off. I opted to attach the mount to the window so I don't discolor the dash, but it can be used on the dash. There's also a disc included with that strong 3m double stick tape (the tape they use on Go Pro mounts) that you can use on dashes with rough textures: you stick the disc to the dash and then attach the suction cup to the disc. The vent clip mount actually works well and is what I used on the work truck. I generally don't like using a vent clip, but this one grabs really tight, and the truck has some beefy vent slats. The CD mount, which at first I was skeptical about, actually works very well if you bother to read the instructions (which I didn't at first) and realize there's a lever on the bottom that you need to turn to lock it into the slot tightly. The CD slot mount wasn't really practical on any of my cars as it would block the entertainment center display, but a good idea for an older car with a more traditional radio. The charge rate is not very fast - it's 10 watts, which is enough to keep the phone up. But if the phone was nearly dead and I needed a fast recharge, I have a high speed plug-in charger in the glove box. That charge rate is pretty standard for car wireless chargers, and the Pixel 6 only supports up to 15 watts wireless charging on 3rd party chargers. Only Google's proprietary wireless charger runs at the higher 23+ watts. ------- Followup 8/3/22: I had to stop using the wireless charging feature because it interferes with the Bluetooth between my phone and the car entertainment system. I can't say this is a problem with the charger as I've Googled the issue and not found any known issues with wireless chargers and BT except for iPhones in a few rare cases (I'm using a Pixel 6), so it may be the entertainment system in my car (2012 Lincoln) that's sensitive to it. BT works but while playing a podcast or music, the pause button will come on and off on it's own, repeatedly. I can actually see the pause indicator on the entertainment system display coming on and off, so I know it's not an audio issue. Disconnecting power from the charger makes it go away. I tried raising the charger higher off the dash and it didn't help. Moving it to the left of the steering wheel seemed to help, but that's not a comfortable location for me. So just a head's up, if your BT playback is acting up, try disabling the charger. I actually switched the unit out for the non-wireless charging version I bought as a spare, and I'm using the wireless charger in my 2013 Yukon with no problem. I do love the cradle itself. It's a very good design, and the one handed operation of placing the phone in the cradle and removing it make this well worth it. Pity I can't use the charger in my car though.

Pixel 3 owner here: get this one
Pixel 3 owner here, so if you care about that specific phone, read on: So, big question, does this "fast wireless charge" the phone? Answer: It won't display the "fast" part, but my tests show me that I am getting the 10w speeds. [EDIT/UPDATE: I found why I was having inconsistent results, heat. I have it mounted in the windshield and it's summertime, I found both the device and the phone quite warm while it was having trouble charging quickly. I directed one of my vents at it with cold AC, I now get 1200mah charging rate consistently. I left the original review below but wanted to add this.] Full answer: I bought this because I have worn out my USB C port. I get in and out of my car a lot for a second job, and use GPS frequently. I needed something that could keep up the charge with GPS and screen running, but Google hampered their own device by going with some proprietary standard instead of the normal. I've been waiting nearly 2 years for a cheaper wireless charge device, but they disappointed me. Suddenly, and without fan-faire, this exact brand shows up on the Google store, and even more so it's claiming 10w charge ability. Looking at the specs of the Google stand, it says the same rate. Great, finally a less expensive option. But in reading reviews here, it's all over the place on if it fast charges or not. I took a chance. And I'm slightly confused by the end of my testing. But, the bottom line, most of the time I'm charging at about a 1000mah rate using Ampere to measure. But sometimes it measures much lower, even lower than 500mah. And sometimes the percentage of my phone battery display doesn't make sense with either of them. Let me explain: I've connected it, had it indicate wireless charging, and in this example it was at 86% already. Ampere reported 120mah. The lock screen told me it was going to take 47 minutes to reach full charge. I didn't touch it, just let it run, but with the screen off so I couldn't see Ampere. Then it steadily ticked upwards on percentage and down on time. Suddenly it was at 88% and 36 minutes to full charge, but it had been only 2 minutes. Then it was at 89% and 109 min to full charge, then 90 with 15 min to full charge. Once in a long while, it'll say charging, but still tick down while in use or stay steady while idle. Taking it off the mount and putting it back on results in much faster charging. Most times I can start it charging, and it will charge at a rate of about 7% in 10 minutes of driving with the screen off. That puts it on par with the fast wireless charger by Google. I don't know why I see the inconsistency, however I can state that this regularly pushes better than any other wireless charger I've tried that's not made by Google. The few moments of oddity, and that it won't say fast-charge, are strange for sure, but I'm blaming Google on that one more than this product. My educated guess is that Google pushed some update which allows some chargers to put out similar charge to their proprietary wireless charger, but don't want to make a big deal about it since it was a bad choice to begin with. The non-google Pixel 3 stuff: - It's an excellent windshield mount, utterly unmovable without a lot of dedicated force. - The one-hand clamp works fine, although I wish it didn't snap shut like it does. - The included charger works fine, the extra port is low power but work ok for smaller devices like bluetooth headsets.

The construction of the mount is solid. Unfortunately that's about the only positive thing there is to say about this product! I tried to charge my phone while using google maps for route planning. Battery was draining very slowly during the drive so the charge wasn't keeping up with the consumption of the phone. Just before the end of the 2 hour drive the phone shut down due to overheating! It wasn't in the sun and a fan was blowing cold a/c air on it! Tried it again the next day, phone felt almost too hot to touch after a 20 mins drive.
