I have had this brand of case since 2002 and they have done their job, no complaint . Purchased the snare case (6.5-14) and it is of the same quality ,standard as my other snare case , i just needed another one. They will protect your investment, you can't go wrong.

It was a gift for my son who's a drummer and wanted to protect his handmade custom snare. Turned out to be a bit deeper then I thought it was going to be but my son uses the extra room for his drum stick bag which fits nicely in the case as well.

A good investment if you own an expensive snare drum. It's padded and impact tough, as well as weather resistant.

SKB hard cases are well worth the expense to keep and transport valuable drums of various sizes. With the overlapping cover and adjustable strap, there’s often wiggle room for a size larger drum to fit.

I owned a set of the comparable Humes and Berg hard shell cases for years. I just bought these SKB cases and will share my observations. There may have been a little lapse in quality control at the SKB factory. These are new cases but when I opened the boxes the straps were dirty and the strap to my floor tom case was way too long. Inside the cases there were slight wrinkles in the padding. I noticed that the top and bottom of these cases have the same thick foam padding as Humes and Berg. The sides however only have a thin layer of felt with no padding. This annoyed me until I put my drums inside. They fit! With Humes and Berg I always had to buy a larger case than I really wanted (ex. a 26" case for a 24" drum). I guess this was due to the thick padding on the sides of the cases. With SKB I was able to buy the correct size cases and my DW drums fit easily. Even the floor tom! This is important because hard shell cases are heavy and awkward to carry in the first place. Larger cases are heavier and more awkward to carry. Overall I would recommend these but wish SKB would get their quality control on par with Humes and Berg.

This case has great quality. Great for taking your snare to practice or to gigs without worrying about transportation damages. Just to consider, I got the 6.5 tall case for my 6.5 snare. However, it still has around one inch of room up-down. So if you want a more fitted case you should go for half an inch or even an inch down than your drum

I have a number of different drums and needed to keep them safe during transport. This one is for a 6 1/2 x 14" custom snare drum. I have bought a total of 8 SKB snare drum cases and they are perfect for what they're used for. This is not a water-proof case because of the holes in the bottom of the case due to the strap locks, it will allow water to get in if kept in a puddle. The case will keep the drum protected from dust and from getting banged up while transporting. It does have padding on the inside not the best but it works just fine if your drum tech's not throwing it around. I've been using these cases for awhile now. They're holding up great and have not fallen apart yet so they seem to be made pretty strong.

Protects my snare drum, its light, but strong. There was a bit of dust on this when it arrived, I guess its not that popular! The Glue on the inside which adheres the velvet to the outer casing was patchy at the top. Again, possibly age related. It was easier to repair my self rather than moan to amazon. Overall, really good case, Cand hold my 6.5" x 14" snare, 2 sets of sticks, stick control book, my pearl dampening pad, not book, couple of pens. This is strong and built to last. It is a must have if you are moving a snare over 200 quid at any time!
