BlueWater Ropes 4mm Accessory Cord

I bought this rope for Prusiks in a climbing course. When I showed up to the course the instructor took one look at my rope and said "that must be BlueWater rope". He showed me how BlueWater rope is much stiffer than other brands of rope. He said that makes it easier to untie knots, but makes prusiks harder to get to grip. I ended up having to put more loops in my prusik to compensate for the stiffer rope. Doing it again I would get a more flexible rope for prusiks.

I am not a climber. 6 feet off the ground is pretty much my limit, and that is on the back of my very tall horse. And that is who I use this for.He and his buddy horse are given their daily multiple feedings of hay out of hay nets, which are hung on the sides of their stalls, and in several trees in their pasture. These two goobers are hard on their hay nets, often using them to play soccer with after the cord used to hang the hay nets has been chewed apart. I needed a sturdy smooth flexible replacement cord, and I have found that this accessory cord is perfect.I have bought the 6mm and the 5mm diameters of this cord, and both work exactly as I need. Neither horse has managed to chew through the cord. I came back here to order the 4mm diameter for the smaller hay nets that we use while traveling.

Should've listened to the "it's too stiff for prussiks" review. It is worthless for prussiks, auto block, etc., way to stiff. I'm sure it will be useful for something else though.

I wouldn’t want to swing off this but it is good quality and if I wrap it around my dome I look like Jerry Garcia. It’s a cool color and I have already cut a piece off when my dog leash walked off one afternoon. Easy to tie knots in and It doesn’t burn your hand like lesser quality alternitives might. 5 stars because of the availability, price point, and quality.

That rope is VERY stiff, to the point where tying knots can be a pain. The same diameter cordelette that I bought from REI is so much more supple - but it was more expensive.

Great quality cord at a very good price. I am glad I decided to get 100' of it even though I thought I only needed the 30' length for a ridgeline. I now have enough to replace the paracord in my hunting pack with the rest of the BlueWater accessory cord. It doesn't stretch, holds knots well, and the 5mm is thick enough for heavier duty use without being too bulky. I am very happy with this purchase.

Nice utility cord. Awesome strength rating. High quality and good visibility. It's holding up well with daily use and no visible abrasions. Worth the price.

Gave this product four stars because I was hoping the rope would be a little more supple. Ties good tight knots just a little rigid. I expect it to loosen up after further use. Overall happy with my purchase.
