I purchased it at a good price 4-5 months ago waiting to install it when doing my basement. All excited to watch our first movie on the screen and once all installed the manual mechanism doesn’t work… screen too low to watch anything… i opened the side case to notice one of the side was broken. Not sure if that explain the mechanism not working but now I have to contact elite screens to get a new side case which im not sure will fix my issue and will probably need to rewind the manual mechanism to install it and probably wont work... all just disappointing. If you have a choice go with a motor, thats what I should have done and not have to worry about a flimsy manual mechanism.. lets see how Elite screen customers service will answer. Will post back with that experience after. I should have waited to buy when ready to install and have the option to return and buy one with a motor.. now im probably stuck with this lemon..

I recently got my hands on a ViewSonic PRO8530HDL and needed something to project it onto. I had tried another screen, a portable one with a tripod, but it was just horribly made, a total piece of junk that wouldn't even stand level. I set up that return, then looked through the options for screens that were Amazon Prime options, so I could overnight one. This one was one such, and I paid the extra to overnight it. And, of course, that flopped horribly. Ordered on Friday, paid a large shipping premium to get it overnight, and it arrived late Tuesday. At least Amazon refunded my extra shipping fee, but still bothered me that a Prime item wasn't anywhere close to even the prime 2 day shipping promise. But that's about all I can complain about. The unit itself arrived in great condition. I was mounting it up at the top of the wall in my great room, so didn't have to worry about studs, as the wall has the double 2x4's across that whole upper edge. Screwed in the screws that came with it, had a buddy help me get it hung, and that was it. I had no wrinkles or any other issues with it when I first unrolled it - was perfect already by that point. For permanent mounted screens like this, I really wish there was a way to "tweak" angle. It wouldn't be difficult for screen makers to have some kind of a screw-driven floating attachment point, so you could easily tweak it slightly up or down on each side, to get it perfectly level after hanging it. Despite the top being level, the screen itself is just slightly angled when it comes out. But the thickness and black back is awesome, since I have this RIGHT over a large bay window, and it does a perfect job of blocking all that light. The screen itself is great, the picture looks awesome on it. Bright, and has a great viewing angle. All told, I can tell I'm really going to LOVE having a projector once I get my custom designed mount done so I can position the projector at the perfect spot, since the only place to mount it currently is about 12 to 18 inches too far away, so I can't squeeze the picture down enough to fit this screen.

Al principio estaba encantado, pero a los 3 meses se empezó a colgar de un lado y arrugar la pantalla.

I purchased the "used-Like New" version to save a buck and reading the description that it should basically be brand new, I felt confident in my purchase. Upon receiving the item i noticed dents in the metal frame which was fine as long as it worked, the savings would be worth it. Upon trying to mount it i noticed the whole right side had been broken and snapped off and dented. the pieces where not broken in the box, so it was shipped like this. It is very disappointing and the Like new labels are not checked. I will be sending it back. On a better not though I did right the screen temporarily up with zip ties to see how it looked and it looks great. Update: Got a second screen ,this time i paid for a brand new one and the mounting caps where not on level (one was straight and the other facing down, o could not be mounted without taking it apart) and the screen was not tensioned properly. Quite disappointing these are passing quality control, so i will be updating the stars on the product and ordering a third screen.

I have 9-foot ceilings and have the screen mounted on the wall about 4 inches from the ceiling. It works perfectly and the screen position, with the extra drop, is perfectly at eye level. I don't feel like I'm looking upwards or straining my neck. Overall, a great purchase and I'd get it again. But here are some pros and cons from using it for a few months and moving it once or twice. Pros: - the drop is great; because of the extra drop, I can mount this close to the ceiling, hiding it away when it's not in use - image quality is quite good on this - the size is awesome; our room is relatively small, so we're only sitting about 11 feet away. The size is very appropriate for that distance. Though if you get close, you'll see that a 1080p resolution actually has pixels that are about 1/10" wide--craziness! Cons: - the edges of the screen (about 3-4") bow inwards towards the screen, causing distortion on panning shots I also had rippling at the bottom of the screen, but then I adjusted (reinstalled) the screen with a level and the bottom ripples went away. If your screen is leaning towards the left or the right, the bar will naturally want to be pulled in that direction, resulting in ripples. The best way to get rid of them is to check to see if everything's level first. Gravity can be a real pain sometimes.
