I used ITW GrimLoc D-rings when I was in the US Army. These are much better than using other MOLLE compatible attaching gear systems. These hooks are sturdy enough, but I would not trust them with anything terribly high value. These D-rings are not dog-proof as my Black Labradork got ahold of one of these, and she decided it was an excellent chew toy. The rings hold securely but if you tug hard enough on just one, they will pop open. When used in pairs, or more, these carabiners hold a lot of weight. I haven't found these rings to be particularly difficult to open or close, but I used similar rings for many years in the Army.

these things function well and I've attached to many small bags and straps to hold things. havent had any issues yet. pricing seems spot on for what you get and so far havent had any issues out of them. sure, if you put too much weight on them you'd have a problem and they'd open up, but these aren't designed or intentioned to hold 50 pounds of gear. size is about right for 1" straps. priced right for what you get.

So, I think it's important to say that as an item(s), these perform a fairly simple task. Point, these are not made by ITW nor is there any branding visible on the item. The plastic is pretty darn good. It has that nice rigidity while still having that smallest amount of give. If the texture was the same it'd be much harder to tell the difference. The quality of the material is at the very least adequate and a worthwhile replacement to the brand name. I also find that the closure is secure. BUT my only issue is that these don't open very easily. You almost have to muscle it open. Maybe this changes over time but my Grimlocks were always easy to work. That's the main reason for 4 stars, because of all of the attributes I looked at, utility was most important and it satisfies most needs but the fact that they're kind of "tight" marks it down a touch. If you're picky about having 'authentic' grimlocks, get the ITWs, if you just need to lash a pouch to your webbing or carry an extra hank of paracord or something simple, these do what they do and they do just fine.

If you have experience with these, you will be receiving what you expect, nothing more, nothing less. I like these on MOLLE webbing on a pack or other gear. Nice little clip for add-ons or a storage hook, like for gloves, empty mags with paracord loops, or anything else with some sort of loop that doesn't weight a ton... they do have limits, but are pretty tough and durable. I even use them on open and close loops for something extra to grab onto.

Work as intended, but they come in 18 pack for a reason. Several broke on me.
