Teachers are the Major Players in the Education Process
John Hattie does a wonderful job of taking research and illuminating how teachers make a visible difference in student learning. Creating lifelong learners is the goal of teachers who are learning experts. Every legislator in our country needs to study the work of John Hattie and look to the successes of other countries like Finland. Investing in teachers who can make learning "visible" is the answer to our economic crisis. Education is the answer!

What Works Best, Not Just What Works
This text is an excellent text for an administrative team to read together. I would advocate that they also read his other work. For any administrators who are engaged in creating data profiles of their schools and putting into the hands of their teachers scripted curriculum that makes grandiose claims of success, this book will help to enrich the conversation about "Why are we doing this? and Why are we doing this this way?"

Brilliant new book
Hattie's latest is like his previous work, Visible Learning: it is a great read full of ideas that are able to be implemented in classrooms and across schools straight away. Key ideas are repeated at various times so you come away with some essential tools that are easy to recall.

Good book
This book goes a little over my head with the statistics but is very interesting. I am not very far into it but have already used the student survey with my students. Very research based.

This book was breath of fresh air. I was refreshed with an objective and unbiased look at what works and what doesn't work -without the spin. It is filled with practical exercises to throw straight into the classroom. It is insightful, giving many examples from studies and some from personal experience. However, it does get repetitive towards the final chapters. Nevertheless I gave it five stars because of what it has "visibly"done and doing to my teaching practice. I highly recommend this teachers who want to increase their impact on their learners.

Was oft nicht so gut?

A must in Neuroeducation. Hattie is one of the best references. His meta analysis has made contributions to the field.

I liked the speedy delivery and the fact that despite being used, the book was in Perfecto condition. A great deal considering that the new book costs about $60.
